Regional Nurse Consultant (RN) - Skilled Nursing

Americare Senior Living is seeking an experienced Regional Nurse Consultant (RN) to support six Skilled Nursing communities across Central Missouri.

In this highly visible leadership role, you'll serve as a clinical advisor, mentor, and strategic partner to community leadership teams, helping drive clinical excellence, survey readiness, regulatory compliance, quality outcomes, and leadership development throughout the region.

Your Role as the Regional Nurse Consultant (RNC)

Skilled Nursing Division

The Regional Nurse Consultant (RNC) plays a critical role in ensuring Americare Senior Living delivers exceptional clinical outcomes, regulatory compliance, and quality resident care across our Skilled Nursing communities.

Reporting to the Regional Director of Operations (RDO), the RNC serves as a clinical mentor, advisor, and compliance partner to community leadership teams. In this role, you'll support survey readiness, quality improvement initiatives, nursing leadership development, and operational excellence while helping communities provide outstanding care to residents and families.

Summary

The Regional Nurse Consultant (RNC) is responsible for promoting clinical excellence, quality outcomes, regulatory compliance, and survey readiness across Americare's Skilled Nursing communities.

This role partners closely with Administrators, Directors of Nursing, and Operations leaders to support Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives, develop nursing leaders, improve clinical outcomes, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.

The RNC provides both virtual and on-site consultation and serves as a trusted resource for community leadership teams throughout the region.

Regional Nurse Consultant (RNC), Regional Clinical Consultant, Regional Director of Clinical Services, Skilled Nursing Clinical Consultant, or Regional Nurse Advisor.

What You'll Do

Clinical Leadership & Mentorship

  • Serve as a clinical mentor and advisor to Skilled Nursing leadership teams
  • Support Director of Nursing onboarding, orientation, and ongoing development
  • Provide guidance regarding nursing practices, clinical processes, and standards of care
  • Assist communities with staffing strategies and nursing leadership support as needed
  • Participate in the recruitment, interviewing, and selection of nursing leadership positions

Regulatory Compliance & Survey Readiness

  • Support communities in implementing state and federal regulations and company policies
  • Conduct routine on-site clinical reviews to ensure compliance and quality care delivery
  • Assist with Plans of Correction following state or federal surveys
  • Help communities maintain survey readiness through education, audits, and coaching
  • Identify compliance concerns and communicate risks to Operations leadership

Quality Assurance & Performance Improvement

  • Actively support Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) programs
  • Review quality measures, CMS Five-Star ratings, CASPER reports, and other clinical outcome data
  • Assist communities with Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) and action planning
  • Monitor progress toward quality benchmarks and support sustainable improvements
  • Participate in QAPI and Risk (SNAR) meetings as requested

Risk Management & Clinical Support

  • Assist with investigations, follow-up education, and corrective action plans when needed
  • Identify events that may pose regulatory, compliance, or litigation risk
  • Provide recommendations and follow-up support to community leadership teams
  • Promote resident safety, accident prevention, and risk reduction initiatives

Training & Education

  • Develop and deliver training programs focused on quality care, compliance, and survey readiness
  • Educate nursing teams on best practices, regulatory requirements, and quality initiatives
  • Support implementation and utilization of INTERACT standards and processes
  • Assist with policy and procedure development, updates, and education

Collaboration & Communication

  • Maintain routine communication with Administrators, Directors of Nursing, and Regional Operations leaders
  • Conduct entrance and exit conferences during community visits
  • Collaborate with consultants, vendors, healthcare partners, and professional organizations
  • Submit timely reports and recommendations following site visits and audits


What You Bring

Education

  • Graduate of a state-approved school of nursing

Licensure / Certification

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required

Experience & Knowledge

  • Five (5) years of long-term care experience preferred
  • Two (2) years of nurse management experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Skilled Nursing regulations and survey processes
  • Experience with QAPI, quality measures, CMS Five-Star ratings, and performance improvement initiatives
  • Knowledge of state and federal long-term care regulations

Requirements

Work Environment & Schedule

  • Exempt position
  • Core schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
  • Additional hours may be required based on travel, emergencies, surveys, community needs, and on-call support responsibilities
  • Frequent travel to Skilled Nursing communities throughout the region


Physical & Sensory Demands

  • Stand, sit, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and change positions frequently
  • Lift and carry up to 35 pounds and push/pull up to 100 pounds
  • Perform computer-based work with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Auditory, visual, and verbal communication abilities required
  • Adhere to all safety, PPE, OSHA, and company policies
