Full Job Description
Regional Hygiene Program Director- 4 Private Owned Locations

Raise the Standard. Grow the People. Build Something That Lasts.

Somewhere out there is a hygienist who has always seen more in this profession than the room they were given to practice it.

Someone who knows that hygiene isn't a cleaning - it's the front line of a patient's health, and the most trusted relationship in the practice. Someone who has quietly mentored every newer clinician who crossed their path, not because it was their job, but because they can't help it. Someone who believes you can run a genuinely profitable organization and treat people like the mission depends on them - because it does.

If that's you, read on. We built this role for you.

The work we're really doing

Kanning Dental and Village Dental are four locations across the Kansas City metro, but we're not in the business of filling chairs. We're here to put patients in control of their health, to give every person who walks in a clear path to a stable, healthy mouth, delivered by clinicians who are proud of how they practice.

That mission only works if our hygienists are exceptional, supported, and growing. It only lasts if the organization behind them is healthy enough to keep investing in them. We don't see heart and profitability as a trade-off. We see them as the same job done well.

The Regional Hygiene Program Director is the person who holds both.

What you'll be trusted to build

Elevate the profession. You'll define what an exceptional hygienist looks like here with clear clinical standards, accurate diagnosis, real periodontal care, preventive treatment matched to the patient in the chair and you'll lift every clinician across four locations toward it. You'll make our hygienists better than they thought they could be, and prouder of the work than they've ever been.

Develop the people. This is the heart of the role. Shoulder-to-shoulder coaching. Honest, kind feedback. A development plan for every hygienist that meets them where they are and moves them forward. New graduates who become confident clinicians because someone finally invested in them. Your win is their growth.

Build a healthy, profitable department. You'll own the metrics that reflect clinical quality and integrity - and you'll understand that strong numbers are the result of great care delivered consistently, not a substitute for it. A profitable hygiene department is what funds better tools, better pay, and better careers for the people you lead. You'll protect both.

Set the culture of care. Consistency across locations. Diagnosis that drives the code, never the other way around. Standards that are principled, not rigid - because quality of care is never sacrificed to a stopwatch.

The kind of leader this takes

We're looking for someone with the heart to see others succeed and the drive to build something that endures.

Specifically:
  • An active Missouri RDH license and 5+ years of clinical excellence - mastery of perio diagnosis, SRP, and the kind of patient communication that builds trust
  • A natural mentor - you've been coaching and lifting other clinicians whether or not anyone gave you the title
  • Someone who understands that clinical behavior and financial health are connected, and isn't afraid of either
  • Multi-provider or multi-location experience, and comfort with practice management software (Open Dental preferred)
  • Prior leadership, lead hygienist, or coordinator experience is a real plus

More than any line on a resume: you lead by credibility, you give the truth with kindness, and you measure your success by the people who grow under you.

This is how we operate, and it's who we're looking for:

Build Trust First. Make It Exceptional. Level Up. Choose Joy. Own the Energy.

A note on how the role grows

In year one you'll spend a day or two a week at the chair and not chasing production, but modeling the standard and earning the team's trust. The rest is leadership: developing, recruiting, calibrating. Over time, leadership becomes the whole job, with compensation that grows alongside the department you build. We'll talk specifics when we talk. This is a director-level role with the comp and runway to match.

If this is your calling

Some people spend a career waiting for the chance to build something they believe in, with the people they believe in. This is that chance with direct access to ownership, four locations to shape, and a profession to elevate.

Send your resume and a few words about why this work matters to you. We read every one.
