Overview:

We are seeking an experienced, motivated, positive, and dependable Engineering Regional Manager to work within our Engineering Department. Our mission is to provide the highest calibre of service to meet the needs of our clients, and we are only as good as the people on our team.

The Regional Manager provides hands-on leadership for project delivery, staff development, and client engagement within a defined region or service area. The role is accountable for operational performance, including safety, quality, profitability, and team culture, and it bridges strategic direction from the Director level with on-the-ground execution. The Regional Manager leads multiple Project Managers and Technical Leads, ensuring consistent delivery standards, staff development, and alignment with company objectives. This position is based out of Prince George, BC.

Job Responsibilities:

The Key accountabilities for this role will include, but are not limited to:

1. Sales and Revenue Responsibility

  • Maintaining and growing client relationships within their region to support repeat work and targeted expansion.
  • Leading or overseeing proposal development, pricing, and contract negotiations for regional projects.
  • Supporting the Director in achieving annual revenue and margin targets by monitoring local backlog and pipeline.
  • Identifying and pursuing opportunities aligned with the function's growth strategy.


2. Operational and Technical Leadership

  • Overseeing day-to-day operations and technical delivery within their region or department.
  • Ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to professional and safety standards.
  • Managing capacity planning, workload balancing, and resourcing for multiple project teams.
  • Resolving operational challenges and escalating strategic or high-risk issues to the Director.
  • Supporting implementation of company systems such as QA/QC, project controls, and safety management.


3. Leading and developing a Regional Team

  • Supervising and mentoring multiple Project Managers, Technical Leads, and support staff.
  • Establishing clear expectations, work plans, and accountability measures for each team.
  • Fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture built on trust, safety, and shared success.
  • Supporting career development, training, and succession planning in coordination with HR and the Director.
  • Representing their region in leadership forums, functional meetings, and company-wide initiatives.


4. Financial and Operational Performance

  • Tracking and reporting on utilization, billability, and project profitability.
  • Managing regional budgets and cost control within defined financial parameters.
  • Reviewing monthly project performance with Project Managers; implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Supporting accurate and timely financial reporting, forecasting, and timesheet approvals.


5. Client and Business Development

  • Serving as the primary client contact for the region, ensuring responsive, solution-oriented service.
  • Developing and maintaining key client relationships that generate long-term partnerships.
  • Supporting proposal and pricing development and coordinating with the Marketing and BD teams.
  • Identifying cross-functional opportunities and collaborating with other regions to deliver integrated services.


6. Collaboration and Integration

  • Working closely with other Regional Managers and Functional Directors to share expertise and best practices.
  • Promoting consistent delivery methods and alignment across regions and disciplines.
  • Participating in cross-functional planning, safety, and improvement initiatives.
  • Reinforcing the company's "one-team" culture and values at the operational level.


7. Policy, Safety, and Compliance

  • Upholding and modeling company safety standards, ensuring a proactive safety culture across all teams.
  • Ensuring compliance with all corporate policies, environmental standards, and quality systems.
  • Participating in audits, safety reviews, and continuous improvement processes.


Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in project delivery and team leadership, preferably within the natural resources sector.
  • P.Eng designation is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor Project Managers and Technical Leads while fostering a positive, collaborative, and high-performing team culture.
  • Proven track record in operational oversight, including quality, budgeting, resource allocation and profitability.
  • Strong client-relationship and stakeholder-management skills, with experience supporting business development or regional growth initiatives.
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to translate strategic objectives into clear, actionable plans for regional teams.


Compensation:

  • The annual salary range is $135,000-$155,000, commensurate with experience. Managers are compensated on a straight-time basis for all hours worked.
