Full Job Description
The day-to-day work of the Application Sales Engineer involves meeting with customers and/or team members, providing technical advice and assistance on product selection and sizing, creating proposals or assisting in proposals with suppliers and team members, providing training to customers and team members, and assisting with product-specific marketing such as eCommerce.

As an Application Sales Engineer, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
• Directly participate in sales efforts to close orders
• Coordinate electrical and automation systems with various Branches and Regional Managers
• Identify target accounts and prospects
• Work with the marketing team to produce marketing materials and events promoting unit and package handling.
• Provide marketing suggestions for social media posts and other digital content
• Utilize AutoCAD, Solidworks, and manufacturer-provided software
• Provide advanced-level technical application support via phone, video conference, or in person
• Stay current on new products and technologies and educate Customers and Purvis Team Members about these new developments
• Determine final disposition of warranty claims and work with suppliers to resolve difficult cases
• Produce and present technical training for Customers and Purvis Team Members about electrical and automation products.

Other duties as assigned by Management.

Skills & Abilities
• Strong knowledge of electrical/automation principles and creative problem solving
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings
• Proficiencies: Computer Drafting Software (SolidWorks or AutoCAD), Microsoft Office, Teams
• Good driving record

Education & Experience
• Prefer a B.S. in Engineering or Mechatronics or equivalent experience
• Five (5) years of electrical/automation work

Job Type: Full-time, 8-hour days M-F

Travel: up to 50% domestic

Pay: Commensurate with experience, car provided
