Regional Director of Business Development

The Regional Director of Business Developmentis responsible fordriving sustainable census growth across an assigned region through the development, oversight, and optimization of referral networks and business development teams. The position combines team leadership, strategic planning, and data-driven analysis to expand market presence and connect families withBriteLifeRecovery's behavioral health services.

Reporting into theChief Growth Officerthis role develops regional strategy, manages a team of business development professionals, and works cross-functionally with clinical leadership, admissions, and marketing to align referral generation with program offerings and operational goals. The position requires regular travel to support assigned markets, representBriteLifeRecovery at industry events, andmaintainreferral partnerships.

What tasks are required?
  • Hybrid Remote: Up to 50% Regional Travel
  • Lead and mentor a team of business development professionals, supporting collaboration, accountability, and performance.
  • Provide coaching, performance evaluations, and professional development to support team growth.
  • Set performance metrics and sales goals, track progress, and make data-driven adjustments as needed.
  • Responsible for a defined contribution mix of admissions per month across the team, in addition to conducting ride-alongsand account audits as part of ongoing performance management.
  • Develop and oversee regional business development strategies aligned withBriteLifeRecovery's mission and growthobjectives.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis toidentifyopportunities for expansion and referral growth.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to refine and standardize business development processes.
  • Work with clinical leadership, admissions, and marketing teams to align referral generation efforts with program offerings.
  • Ensure business development effortssupportoperational goals and census targets across multiple locations.
  • Coordinate communication between teams to supporttimelyreferral handling and program enrollment.
  • RepresentBriteLifeRecovery at industry events, networking functions, and public speaking engagements.
  • Support behavioral health and mental health awareness efforts within the region.
  • Own the regional growth plan and manage the regional business development budget, including travel, events, and outreach spend,in accordance withcompany guidelines.
  • Establish partnerships with universities, hospitals, and community-based organizations to expand access to services.

What we need from you?
  • Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare administration, marketing, ora relatedfield, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of4-6years of business development or sales experience, preferably in behavioral health or healthcare.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience leading or managing a sales or business development team.
  • Demonstratedtrack recordof meeting or exceeding referral, admissions, or census targets.
  • Proficiencywith CRM systems and pipeline management.
  • Existing referral relationships within target markets preferred.

  • 5 years of progressive leadership experience managing teams of 5 or more
  • Advanced degree, preferred.
  • Team leadership and people management, including coaching and performance management.
  • Business development and referral relationship management within behavioral health or healthcare.
  • Data-driven decision making and use of CRM and pipeline reporting.
  • Market and territory planning, including competitive analysis.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with clinical, admissions, and marketing teams.
