Key Responsibilities - Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, work papers, accruals and variance analysis
- Assist with month, quarter, and year end close
- Work with operations to ensure accurate accruals and financials
- Ensures compliance with Five Star accounting procedures
- Using Excel and other applications
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the general ledger
- This person will have to travel to their Atlanta, Athens, and Marietta locations frequently.
- Prepare and gather supporting documentation and explanations for monthly financial reporting, budgeting/forecast, and analysis for Senior Management
- Assists in development, implementation, and maintenance of accounting controls
- Assist in collecting data to determine costs of business activity as required
- Maintain balance sheet reconciliations.
- Manage workload and prioritize job tasks in order to meet deadlines.
- Comply with corporate policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or other related field and two years of related experience; or equivalent combination of equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
