Job Summary and Responsibilities

Job Summary / PurposeThis position oversees auditing, education, and training for the facility coding and CDI team.The Manager will oversee the Coding/CDI Audit and Education team.The Manager will integrate training and development strategies and programs for coders/CDI employed by CommonSpirit Health (CSH). Develops and implements strategic needs analyses and training plans, coordinates and evaluates curriculum development, and conducts the preparation and delivery of training to ensure compliant coding/CDI and regulatory billing practices. Oversees program to include development, technical coordination, and management of internal and/or external training and development of coder/CDI and support staff. Provides guidance and leadership to coding audit and education management in the implementation and administration of effective systems, processes, and procedures.. Essential FunctionsEssential Function 6 Oversees inpatient and outpatient auditors/educators, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to compliant coding practices and regulatory requirements 6 Adhere to the ethical standards of coding as established by AAPC and/or AHIMA 6 Collaborates with coding and CDI leaders to discuss audit results, education needs, and develops action plans for sustained improvement 6 Develop and execute process improvement projects 6 Actively seeks to promote, and helps to maintain a professional, team-oriented, service-conscious environment, which contributes to the goals of the team and reflects the values of the enterprise 6 Assess tools and resources to prevent downstream errors, denials, etc. 6 Ability to troubleshoot computer issues in a timely fashion while working remotely 6 Ensures team meets productivity and accuracy standards, and develops action plans for sustained improvement 6 Acts as a liaison with CDI, patient financial services, patient registration, clinical staff to resolve problems and improve workflow 6 Ability to identify and determine resolution of complex issues 6 Assist CSH leadership in strategic planning 6 Ability to communicate effectively, deliver presentations to large groups, stay organized, and demonstrate effective leadership skills

Education and Experience

Associates Other - HIM and/or Nursing, require 4-6 yearsBachelors Other - HIM and/or Nursing, PreferredRequired - 4-6 years Acute Care setting Coding/CDI audits, education, and training in large multi facility organizations

Licensure and Certifications - Required
