Management Analyst 3 to serve as the
Records Officer. This is a high-profile position in the Office of the Director that serves oversees customer support, policies, procedures, and systems for records retention and records dissemination. The Records Officer oversees the fulfillment of records requests, works with internal staff to organize and respond to records topics, and coordinates systems and tools for records management. A successful candidate will know and understand records management principles for a large organization, will have a customer service focus, and will be skilled and experienced in process improvement.
Location: This position is based in the Iowa DOT headquarters in Ames, Iowa, but will have the opportunity to work remotely for a portion of hours. The position may have occasional in-state travel and rare out-of-state travel.
Shift Requirements: This is a full-time, 40-hour per week position. The position will primarily work during core business hours of 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, to maximize collaboration with staff and partners. Iowa DOT may authorize a flexible work schedule upon request.
As the Records Officer, your duties will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Oversee the DOT's compliance with public records laws.
- Establish and maintain the agency records retention schedules.
- Coordinate information technology services and systems related to records.
- Train staff and support DOT business units on records processes.
- Broadly support customers seeking access to DOT records.

- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in any field, and experience equal to three years of full-time work in project management; management analysis; data science; business systems analysis; or professional-level program administration, development, or operations.

- Three years of full-time work experience in project management; management analysis; data science; business systems analysis; or professional-level program administration, development, or operations; and
- A total of four years of education and/or full-time experience (as described in part a), where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university coursework in any field equals one year of full-time experience.
- All of the following (a, b, and c):
- One year of full-time work experience in project management; management analysis; data science; business systems analysis; or professional-level program administration, development, or operations; and
- A total of four years of education and/or full-time experience (as described in part a), where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university coursework in any field equals one year of full-time experience; and
- A total of two years of graduate-level education and/or full-time experience (as described in part a), where twenty-four semester hours of accredited graduate college or university coursework in business administration, industrial management, statistics, natural science, or a closely-related field equals one year of full-time experience.
- Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes six months of full-time work as a Management Analyst 2 or two and a half years as a Management Analyst 1.
