Full Job Description
D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for a Real Estate Transaction Coordinator (officially titled Region Land Coordinator) in the Main Office Department. The right candidate will play an essential role in the communication and coordination of timely events involved with the land acquisition approval process. Streamline the process by which land deals are approved, as well as to communicate and carry out the expectations of the regional office.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Receive, review, organize, and process purchase and sale agreements, amendments, notices, land books, and other transaction documents for approval and execution. Upon approval/execution, coordinate return delivery with local contacts, local counsel, and/or escrow company.
  • Track multiple transactions and deadlines simultaneously and ensure required documentation, signatures, approvals, and deadlines are completed accurately and on time.
  • Review documents for completeness and identify missing information or discrepancies requiring follow-up.
  • Process and track escrow-related documentation, funding requests, wires, and transaction status.
  • Communicate with legal, finance, corporate, and regional executives and personnel regarding the status of transactions and outstanding requirements.
  • Maintain accurate electronic transaction, contract, escrow, and land files.
  • Prepare supplemental reports and checklists associated with land books and transaction files.
  • Process internal environmental requests, transmit work orders, and dispatch to the environmental consultant. Track status of Phase I Environmental Assessments for real estate acquisition transactions. Approve and submit environmental invoices under $5k to corporate office for processing.
  • Prepare reports and maintain tracking systems for open transactions, funding requests, and contracts.
  • Maintain and update contract databases and records as transactions are approved, executed, amended, or closed.
  • Assist with auditing contracts and transaction files to ensure accuracy and compliance with Company requirements.
  • Work with multiple departments and outside vendors, including title/escrow companies, legal counsel, environmental consultants, and other third-party professionals.
  • Provide backup support for internal escrow departments and audit California sales contracts.
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy and confidentiality when handling contracts and financial/transaction information.
  • Maintain regular and reliable office attendance.


Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university
  • Four to six years of related experience and/or training
  • Must have a vehicle and a valid driver's license
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral form or via DRH applications
  • Proficiency with MS Office and email
