Compensation Range:

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities:

Works independently and efficiently performs a consistent high quality of work. Provides radiation therapy services by contributing as an essential member of the radiation oncology treatment team through provision of total quality care of each patient undergoing a prescribed course of treatment. Performs duties under supervision of leadership regarding patient treatments, set-up techniques and scheduling.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Participates effectively in a therapeutic team approach to provide optimum radiation therapy treatments. Provides radiation therapy treatment delivery services to cure or improve the quality of life of patients by accurately delivering a prescribed course of treatment. Administers treatment accurately and safely and monitors and reports untoward effects, reactions, therapeutic responses and incompatibilities.
  • Implements and delivers a planned course of external beam, STRS, STRT, TBI, or IMRT treatment.
  • Evaluates and assesses the physiologic and psychological responsiveness of each patient to treatment daily.
  • Documents details of treatment procedures accurately, billing codes and maintains daily treatment records, updating as often as required.
  • Constructs and/or prepares and utilizes immobilization devices, beam directional devices and the like which facilitate treatment delivery.
  • Provides patient education to maximize patient compliance with bias-er plan of care and provide family education as needed.
  • Assists in orientation and training of new staff and students as directed by supervisors.
  • Other duties as assigned.


MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Satisfactory completion of formal radiation therapy technology education from an accredited program required
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience


LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • New York State licensure by the New York Department of Health, as per Article 35 of the Public Health Law upon hire required
