Radiation Therapist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for administering radiation treatments to patients as prescribed by a radiation oncologist, ensuring precision and patient safety throughout the process. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:- Administer prescribed doses of radiation to patients using specialized equipment.
- Position patients accurately to ensure effective and safe treatment.
- Operate and maintain radiation therapy machines, ensuring functionality and safety compliance.
- Monitor patients during treatments and report any adverse reactions or concerns to the medical team.
- Educate patients and their families about the treatment process, potential side effects, and post-treatment care.
- Collaborate with oncologists, medical physicists, Dosimetrists and other healthcare professionals to develop and modify treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of treatment sessions.
- Adhere to safety protocols and radiation protection guidelines to minimize exposure risks.
Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Radiation Therapy or a related field.
- Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or an equivalent credential.
- State licensure (if required by the state).
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide emotional support to patients.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment with attention to detail.
Preferred Skills & Experience:- Prior experience in a clinical radiation therapy setting.
- Familiarity with different types of radiation therapy techniques, such as IMRT, SBRT, and brachytherapy.
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
Work Environment & Conditions:- Outpatient Radiation Services administered weekdays only.
- Requires standing for extended periods and assisting patients with mobility needs.
- Regular exposure to radiation, requiring adherence to strict safety protocols.
