A Day in the LifeCareers that Change LivesThe R&D Engineer II will report into the Wound Management R&D Team and will focus on the development of new would closure products to meet customer needs and expand our wound closure product line.

A Day in the Life Responsibilities may include the following, and other duties may be assigned.
- Designs, develops, analyzes, troubleshoots, and provides technical skills during research and/or product development.
- Designs studies to investigate root cause or identify process parameters.
- Supports product development activities.
- Provides feedback on machine design and prototypes.
- Designs fixturing for manufacturing equipment or testing.
- Creates prototype test samples.
- Supports the voice of customer and pre-clinical studies.
- Prepares and tracks test samples.
- Assists in DOE planning and execution.
- Performs statistical analysis and presents results.
- Compose engineering reports.
- Research technical and procedural topics and reports of findings to groups.
- Work will be performed in R&D laboratories and in manufacturing facilities.
Must Have: Minimum Requirements Bachelor's Degree required with 2+ years of experience or Advanced Degree with 0+ years of experience
Nice to Have Degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Biomedical Engineering
- Practical experience in the following areas:
- Suture and/or needle test methods
- Equipment and/or test fixture design
- Polymer development and manufacturing
- Material characterization
- Development and manufacturing of combination products
- Experience in the medical device industry
- Knowledge of Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Demonstrated ability to deliver quality technical work within project schedules and timelines.
- Must be team oriented, with the ability to work well on common deliverables with diverse cross-functional teams and to interact at the highest professional manner with all organizational levels
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and interpersonal skills to successfully partner on varying levels ranging from cross functional to global multi-site and multi-business unit

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$88,800.00 - $133,200.00
This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
