Quality Systems Engineer-Seymour, CT

Thule Inc. in Seymour, CT has an exciting opportunity for a Quality System Engineer. This will work on site in our Seymour facility position and is responsible for developing, leading and maintaining our Company's quality management system.Responsibilities Include:
  • Develop and maintain the company's management systems, ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards (ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
  • Organize, manage and conduct regular internal audits to monitor the performance of the management systems and identify areas of improvement; follow up on corrective actions
  • Host external audits (compliance, customer, registrar)
  • Maintain the manuals, procedures, and documents; ensure contents are appropriate for the business
  • Collaborate with core function teams to continuously identify, improve and prioritize the management systems and drive organization efficiency
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions in response to customer complaints and nonconformances
  • Provide training and support to employees on the management systems and control processes
  • Conduct layered process audits, with management, of finished goods and report results.
  • Lead person coordinating daily Quality activities for OEM customers.
  • Document and analyze returned OEM product and drive quality/design improvements.
  • Prepare PPAP and International Material Data System documentation for OEM customers
  • Contribute and attend OEM project meetings
  • Attend production meetings and report on OEM quality concerns and issues.
  • Facilitator of FMEA's, Risk Analysis and Core Quality tools.
  • Support any environmental requests, customer surveys or other requests from customers
  • Train and assist Quality Associates in assigned job functions

The Requirements for the role are:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Quality Management, with minimum of 5-7 years of experience
  • Certification in ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 14001, ISO 45001
  • 5 years of auditing experience and certifications
  • In depth knowledge of management standards and development and implementation of, ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 14001, ISO 45001.
  • Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent PPAP knowledge and submissions
  • Experience with OEMs and portals a plus
  • Good understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and IMDS principles
  • Computer literate in MS Office (Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint) required. Knowledge of M3 system is a plus.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated, action-oriented with ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proven skills of multitasking and leadership and decision-making skills
