Job Description

The Quality Review Team Leader will be primarily responsible for the development, implementation, maintenance and supervision of the Credit Management Quality Review processes including oversight of team members performing Quality Review. The Quality Review Team Leader will provide overall leadership for adherence to applicable regulatory and procedural requirements of commercial and small business loans.

Essential Functions
  • Develop and oversee Quality Review program including the design of Quality Review procedures and standards to ensure consistent quality performance across lending operations by reviewing key components/fields within an underwriting document. The Quality review program will be continuously updated and informed by RCSA, SOX, 2nd line QA/QC, Loan review and internal audit feedback/findings and regulatory exams.
  • Monitor compliance with internal quality standards, customer requirements, and applicable regulations including changes thereof
  • Perform and plan reviews to verify adherence to quality standards and identify improvement opportunities
  • Manage Quality review documentation including reports, results and corrective action records
  • Examine root cause related to identified issues, non-conformance and process deviations, lead analysis and develop preventative actions, as required
  • Drive continuous improvement by partnering with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements, reduce defects and enhance operational efficiency
  • Assist with documenting and communicating errors in data discrepancies, as identified
  • Train and mentor employees on quality standards, examination techniques and best practices to build a culture of quality and accountability
  • Work with the reporting teams to develop reporting including metrics, analyze trends and present findings and recommendations to senior management
  • Oversee the timely execution of the QA plan including the assessment of adequate and qualified resources
  • Identify risk(s) and assist in developing plans to mitigate
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure appropriate Quality review is performed relative to the business loan portfolio
  • Conduct, or participate in, the hiring, coaching, developing and supervising of team members, conducting one-on-one progress and coaching sessions, as needed. Identify and cross-train team members for appropriate succession planning and fulfillment of potential
  • Document and complete annual performance appraisals and performance management duties including but not limited to providing feedback and goal setting
  • Work on conversion and acquisition teams to provide regulatory reviews and ensure requirements of commercial loans are met and loan servicing requirements are fulfilled
  • Assist with special projects as the need arises
  • Display corporate leadership in support of the strategic plan
  • Provide input in developing goals, strategic planning recommendations based on operational data


Education and Experience preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance or related degree
  • 5-6 years of relevant experience in Commercial Lending as a Portfolio Management Team Leader, Portfolio Manager, Relationship Manager, and/or Credit Officer/Underwriter working with complex credits and documentation
  • 5-6 years of Internal audit, Compliance, and/or Quality Assurance/Quality Control experience
  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience
