Job Description

ZACHRY is currently seeking an experienced Industrial Quality Control Multi-Discipline Inspector for new construction work.

Position Summary:

The inspector provides support to management in defining project requirements for selecting appropriate procedures and techniques for quality control. They also assist in training and testing craft personnel on proper techniques and procedures. The inspector conducts visual inspections of materials and work in progress at various locations throughout the site and across various construction disciplines, such as Welding, piping, civil, structural, I&E, etc., to ensure compliance with project specifications and governing codes. All inspection activities are validated by documenting them on approved forms, Inspection and Test Records (ITRs,) or other media as endorsed by the project's ITP or SOP.

Responsibilities

Basic Responsibilities:

  • Performs examinations, inspections, or tests as required by project management and/or the client/owner.


  • Issues relevant Quality Records and, when necessary, writes and sends non-conformance reports to the QC Supervisor.


  • Recommends improvements in test plans and inspection forms based on experience.


  • Reads and interprets engineered drawings and manufacturer manuals.


  • Completes and maintains inspection, test, examination, and Quality Control Records.


  • Ensures conformity with the Quality Control Plan by obtaining relevant documentation, verifying procedures and equipment to be used in tests, controls, and inspections, and managing documents certifying tests, controls, and inspections.


  • Provides guidance and consultation to Level I and II inspectors and serves as a Team Leader when the supervisor is offsite.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications - Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • 5+ years' related experience within multiple industrial construction disciplines


  • Knowledge of various codes and standards such as ASME, AWS, API, ASNT, ACI, NACE, and IEC relating to oil and gas industry is necessary.


  • Ability to read and comprehend multiple types of engineering drawings, manufacturer manuals, and welding symbols is essential.


  • Relevant experience or current certifications in soil, concrete inspection, electrical, structural, piping, and welding are preferred.


  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required, and familiarity with other computer packages such as MS Project, Outlook, and Bluebeam is desirable.


  • Attention to detail and conviction to reject work that does not meet expectations without being influenced by peer pressure are important personal characteristics.


Preferred Qualifications Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • 10 years of related field work as a craft supervisor or above.


  • Relevant educational or certification requirements, such as a degree in engineering, NCCER certification(s) or a quality control certification(s)


Pay Rate:

  • $37.00 - $58.50 Per Hour DOE


Work environment:
Will work in all weather conditions ranging from warm/hot - cool/cold. Occasional rain. Will work at different elevations. May be required to work in close, confined spaces for a long period of time. Noise levels will be moderate to high.
