Quality & Materials Manager

BRECOflex seeks a hands-on Quality & Materials Manager to lead quality and material flow and oversee Purchasing, Inventory, Receiving, and Shipping.
This cross-functional manufacturing leadership role requires expertise in quality, materials, and production. The ideal candidate brings quality and manufacturing leadership experience, collaborates across departments, solves problems, improves processes, and keeps operations on track.

You should be comfortable working on the manufacturing floor, developing employees, investigating quality issues, analyzing operational data, collaborating with suppliers, and making practical decisions that meet production and customer needs.
The ideal candidate has experience in a small- to mid-sized industrial manufacturing environment, where leaders work across functions and take a hands-on approach to quality, materials, and operations.

What You'll Do

Quality & Materials
Your core responsibility will be to lead the Quality function and ensure efficient material flow throughout the organization.

• Develop the Quality Control team and foster quality and accountability.
• Ensure products meet customer and internal specifications.
• Investigate nonconformances, complaints, returns, and supplier quality issues.
• Identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Analyze quality and operational data for trends and improvements.
• Partner with Production to resolve quality, material, and process issues.
• Ensure materials are available to meet production and customer needs.
• Improve quality, material availability, workflow, and manufacturing performance.
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing requirements.

Purchasing, Inventory, Receiving & Shipping
You will have operational responsibility for the functions that support material availability and movement throughout the business.

• Purchase production materials and finished goods based on demand, inventory, and production needs.
• Oversee purchase orders, supplier communications, deliveries, and late orders.
• Build supplier relationships and resolve material, quality, and delivery issues.
• Oversee inventory control, counts, and accuracy.
• Maintain inventory levels while minimizing shortages and excess.
• Oversee receiving to ensure materials are identified, stored, and production-ready.
• Support warehouse operations and material flow.
• Track and control customer-held inventory.
• Oversee daily inbound and outbound shipping.
• Supervise shipping staff and ensure accurate packing, labeling, documentation, and shipment.
• Monitor carriers, freight costs, shipments, returns, and claims.
• Support domestic and import logistics.
• Improve purchasing, inventory, receiving, shipping, cost, and delivery performance.

QMS & ISO Partnership
The Quality & Materials Manager will partner with the QMS Engineer on the Company's Quality Management System and ISO-related activities.

• Partner with the QMS Engineer on ISO 9001 compliance and improvement.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Maintain quality procedures, records, and corrective actions.
• Support calibration and other QMS activities.
• Identify process improvements with the QMS Engineer and operational teams.
• Ensure manufacturing follows quality requirements.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
• 6+ years of experience in industrial manufacturing
• 4+ years of experience supervising employees
• Strong QC/QA foundation in an industrial manufacturing environment
• Strong experience investigating nonconformances and performing root cause analysis
• Experience supervising employees and holding teams accountable for performance
• Working knowledge of inventory control, receiving, warehousing, and material movement
• Some experience with purchasing, suppliers, and material replenishment
• Familiarity with shipping and logistics
• Experience partnering directly with Production
• Ability to read drawings/specifications and understand manufacturing processes
• Comfort using operational data to make decisions
• Experience working within ISO 9001 or a comparable structured Quality Management System
• Coach and develop employees with clear performance expectations.
