Job Requirements:

The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for management and continuous improvement of Plant Quality Systems including customer and internal corrective / preventive actions and effectiveness, customer specification management, internal audit, the testing and inspections processes, the evaluation of inventory for order fulfillment. The Quality Manager must ensure that the Plant complies with ISO and customer requirements while meeting operational performance targets for Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost. The Quality Assurance Manager is directly responsible and accountable for the quality of the products shipped to the customer.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the being the “voice of the customer” by establishing quality acceptance standards for all processes. Must be willing to take unpopular stands when necessary to protect our customers while supporting achievement of operational targets for safety, quality, delivery and cost. The Quality Assurance Manager is accountable for the quality of the product shipped to our customers. 
  • Responsible for maintaining the ISO 9001: Quality Management System.

  • Primary champion for effective root cause analysis by supporting teams in documentation of corrective and preventive actions needed to improve performance in safety, quality, delivery and cost. Monitors all corrective and preventive actions and error proofing solutions for effectiveness.
  • Primary Customer and Supplier contact for Quality Issue resolution and quality data / audit requests.
  • Responsible for all testing and inspection processes including customer specification management, acceptance standards, methods training, calibration, GR&R, data management and use of statistical capability to establish process control limits
  • Lead a Material Review Board (MRB) to establish control and disposition of non-conforming material. At the time of order validation, the QC manager oversees the process for selecting inventory to ensure customer requirements are met, and inventory is utilized effectively.
  • Serve as “Gate Keeper” for the new product validation process to ensure new or modified products meet customer requirements and demonstrate acceptable manufacturing capabilities for repeatability.
  • Must ensure control of Quality System documentation and procedure compliance through an effective internal audit process.
  • Responsible for the development and training of the quality team as well as verification of training effectiveness of our hourly associates for quality acceptance guidelines.
  • Recruit qualified individuals as need. Train, coach, evaluate and develop staff. This includes conducting annual performance appraisals
  • Maintains standards of work performance and attitude to insure a safe and productive environment
  • Will actively engage in Lean Management by encouraging, teaching, participating in, and supporting theLean Six Sigma culture and tools.

Qualifications/ Experience:

  • Bachelors degree
  • LSS Green Belt Certification
  • Strong understanding of statistical methods
  • High level of business acumen, with a strong foundation in finance.
  • 5-10 years of experience in Quality System management in manufacturing operation
  • Certification for ISO9001/TS16949 auditing or equivalent experience in regulatory compliance

Preferred

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt
  • Structured root cause analysis skills
  • B.S Degree in Technical discipline or B.S. Degree in Business Administration
