Full Job Description
Reporting to the Director of Quality and Continuous Improvement, the Quality Manager ensures that the organization's products and services are in compliance with the customer's quality requirements, in addition to complying with company and regulatory requirements for quality, safety, and reliability. Responsible for overseeing the Quality strategy, policies, processes, standards and systems for the Company's manufacturing facility and its supply chain to operate within. Supervises, trains, and assists all quality control personnel. Directs quality-related activities in conjunction with Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing, Customer Service, and any other department/function that affects the quality of the organization's goods or services. This role is responsible for oversight of all quality programs and system at the manufacturing plant level. The incumbent will also insure effective implementation of Spray Products' Quality Mission Statement.

Quality Manager Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the ongoing development, implementation, and strict adherence to a quality program. Develops and/or reviews standards, policies, and procedures for all functions and departments involved with or related to the production of all products. The Quality Manager has the authority and decision over the shipment of any product or products and ensures products are in compliance with all regulatory, safety, and company standards.
  • Reviews and resolves quality control problems/concerns with manufacturing and others including vendors, customers, quality control personnel, and any personnel related to production.
  • Manages quality staff in accordance with organization's policies and applicable regulations, with an emphasis on developing experience of junior team members. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work.
  • Manages the company quality system and acts as the Management Representative.
  • Assures Management of Change (MOC) system tracks all change requests to assure no unauthorized changes are made which result in out of compliance processes, documentation or data associated with a customer's product.
  • Coordination and hosting of customer and third-party audits, customer visits, and any applicable external presentations.
  • Management of supplier approval including establishing specifications and incoming inspection.
  • Assures an effective CAPA system and Management Review of follow-up actions.
  • Monitoring and analysis of customer complaints including ensuring satisfactory response to customers.
  • Support implementation of continuous improvement programs.
  • Development and execution of ongoing procedural training.
  • Comfortable and engaged in being a hands-on leader, spending up to 75% of time on the manufacturing plant floor driving and developing a quality focused culture.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a science or engineering field
  • 5+ years in a manufacturing environment in quality assurance management
  • Experience in implementing and managing compliance to ISO-9001 or other Quality standards
  • Experience in Quality Systems implementation for GMP manufacturing
  • Certified Quality Auditor
  • Must have highly effective verbal and written English communication skills


Knowledge - Skills - Abilities
  • Ability to work well under minimal supervision
  • Attention to details, organization ability and ability to interact well with others
  • Understanding and 3 yrs practical experience with Lean / TPC including:

o FMEA

o 5 S

o Visual Management

o Value Stream Mapping

o Kaizen Events
  • Strong computer skills


Physical Requirements
  • Position requires less than 25% travel within the US. This includes travel between our PA and OH facilities and customer visits as needed.
  • Physical abilities required in order to work in a manufacturing plant, tour facilities, observe processes, inspect equipment, and perform other duties include:

o Standing / walking for extended periods of time

o Climbing stairs and ladders

o Lifting and carrying equipment, product, or components weighing up to 50 lbs.
