GENERAL JOB SUMMARY :

The Quality Manager for the Multi-Service Advanced Capability Hypersonic Test Bed (MACH-TB) program requires a unique blend of industrial quality expertise and high-stakes aerospace operational experience. This role e nsures implementation of industry and internal quality standards while w ork ing in a regulated government environment and report ing to management on quality-related issues. Th e Quality Manager role l ead s the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS), driving continuous improvement to reduce defects, waste, and costs. This role d irects audit schedule to ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

PRIMARY:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with industry standard ISO 9001:2015 .


  • Ensure products meet legal, safety, and industry regulations. Lead internal audits and manage internal audit schedule.


  • Develop and maintain quality procedures and instructions for engineering, Test Vehicle testing, and design and development projects.


  • Maintain a controlled QMS document library.


  • Lead and support Corrective Action efforts for problem identification, improvement, and prevention.


  • Monitor testing and manufacturing processes to identify deviations and ensure strict adherence to set protocols.


  • Prepare material used to evaluate the effectiveness of the quality management system in support of management review meetings and in other settings.


  • Provide support for customer representatives regarding quality issues.


  • Participate in the development of and utilize key performance indicators (KPI's) to achieve Quality goals.


SECONDARY:

  • Work with suppliers to resolve or improve quality issues and to implement effective corrective action.


  • Work with support service stakeholders , including Procurement, IT, Human Resources, Contract Administration, and Facilities , to ensure a fully compliant management system environment.


  • Support engineers and technical staff in design and process validations, process control, process training, process improvement, and risk management.


  • Coordinate process steps, standards , requirements, and infrastructure to enhance the existing ISO 9001 Q uality M anagement S ystem.


  • Investigate, resolve, and document quality issues, implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) .


  • Evaluate the quality of raw materials from third-party vendors and handle customer feedback to resolve complaints or product recalls.


  • Analyze quality metrics and data to prepare reports for senior management.


  • Other quality - related responsibilities assigned by management.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY :

Manager-level supervisory responsibility overseeing engineering and technician teams.

JOB SKILLS:

REQUIRED :

  • Must be able to obtain/ maintain DoD Secret C learance.


  • Experience with Quality Management processes in an environment compliant with ISO 9001:2015, AS9100D, or ISO 13485:2016 standards .


  • Recruit, train, and manage quality technicians and inspectors, fostering a culture of \"quality-by-design\".


  • Working knowledge of desktop applications including MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint .


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


  • Good problem-solving abilities using systematic, logical, and sequential approaches.


  • Self-motivation to take the initiative to complete tasks.


  • Strong leadership, analytical problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.


PREFERRED :

  • ISO 19011:2018 Lead Auditor Certification


  • DoD Secret Clearance


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor\'s degree in engineering or 10+ years of experience.


  • 5+ years in a leadership or management role within an engineering, laboratory, or manufacturing environment with at least 3 years at the senior level.


  • 7+ years of relevant engineering experience in laboratory operations, electrical/mechanical development, machining, testing, or prototyping (or equivalent combination of education and industry/military experience).


Travel

  • Up to 2 5 %


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position operates across engineering office spaces, advanced electrical laboratories, integrated test environments, precision machine shop areas, and facility operational zones. Work involves planning, oversight, scheduling, documentation review, process development, and cross ? departmental coordination. The role requires adherence to facility safety protocols, ESD practices, and operational standards while supporting fast ? paced, mission ? driven workflows. The Quality Manager will regularly interact with engineers, technicians, mission providers, and department managers, and may be required to support hands ? on assessments or oversight during integration, fabrication, or test activities.
