Position SummaryThe Quality Assurance Manager leads all Quality Assurance and Food Safety (QA/FS) activities at the plant. This role is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining robust quality systems, and driving continuous improvement, while developing and leading the QA/FS team.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage all QA/FS programs, including HACCP, Food Safety Plans, Environmental Monitoring, Allergen Control, Sanitation, Pest Control, Hold & Release, and Trace/Recall
- Ensure compliance with customer, regulatory (CFIA, FDA, USDA, GMP), and GFSI/SQF standards
- Oversee internal audit programs and maintain audit readiness at all times
- Drive continuous improvement using Lean principles, RCA, CAPA, and data analysis
- Monitor and report KPIs to improve plant quality performance and reduce consumer complaints
- Partner with cross-functional teams to strengthen quality culture and ensure product specifications meet customer and regulatory requirements
- Lead investigations and customer communications related to quality or food safety incidents
- Support commercialization and production teams with process capabilities, specifications, and quality standards
- Develop, coach, and mentor QA/FS staff to build capability and succession
- Oversee sanitation team, processes, MSS and pest control
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in a science or business-related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of QA/FS leadership experience in food manufacturing, with 2 or more of this time in a Manager level role
- PCQI certification required; SQF/BRC experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, environmental monitoring, sanitation, and regulatory compliance
- Experience with oversight of sanitation team and processes is needed
- Experience with data analysis, continuous improvement, and audit management
- Proven leadership, communication, and team development skills

Work Environment & Requirements- Combination of office and production floor (approx. 50/50)

- Travel up to 10%, primarily to the United States
