SUMMARY: We are looking for a dynamic Quality professional to join our Crystal Lake manufacturing facility!
In this role, you will report directly to the Plant Manager - Crystal Lake. As the Quality Manager, you will develop and maintain an integrated quality system which conforms to ISO 9001:2000 standard. The Quality Manager will oversee all quality activities of the facility, develop training programs and activities to monitor and improve quality of products and customer satisfaction.
The ideal candidate will possess the ability to drive operational excellence in quality initiatives, processes, and practices; and use strong project and change management skills.
The Quality Manager builds partnerships with all levels of team members. Strong leadership skills and business knowledge are keys to success in this position, along with the ability to thrive in an environment of both strategy and active hands-on execution.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: In addition to those listed in the Summary section above, the following are duties necessary to meet the minimum requirements of the position. Other duties may be assigned:
  • Manage and supervise the Quality department and Quality programs. This also includes performance management and hiring of the employees within the department.
  • Work to improve quality of outgoing products
  • Work to improve communication of customer requirements, resolve customer concerns, and promote quality throughout organization
  • Work closely to improve/maintain quality of raw materials/ products
  • Relationships with vendors and contractors required to maintain quality products and resolve quality issues
  • Relationship with registrar & auditors required to obtain and maintain certifications.
  • ISO management representative
  • Maintain a quality program conforming to ISO 9001:2015 standards
  • Oversee corrective action process
  • Train & promote quality throughout the organization
  • Lead quality improvement projects
  • Oversee internal auditing
  • Complete special projects and other duties as assigned. This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related or relevant field preferred, or 5-7 years' experience
  • A minimum of 5 years or more of progressive Quality Management experience in a manufacturing related environment
  • Solid working knowledge of ISO 9001 standards
  • Geometry and statistics skills required
  • Strong knowledge of and extensive experience with ERP tools / principles.
  • Ability to partner with internal and external customers
  • Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint software and applications
  • Strong continuous improvement mindset and desire for action. Understanding of Lean principles
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, shop orders, product specifications, and contract reviews
  • Ability to read blueprints and drawings
  • Ability to write routine reports
  • Exceptional project management skills including ability to create action plans and timelines, manage multiple programs simultaneously
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent understanding of strategic and operational planning
  • Proven ability to solve complex problems
  • Self-starting with the desire to own and drive outcomes, with excellent ability to self-manage time and priorities
