Title:
Quality Inspector - Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) (LNG Project)

KBR is looking for a Quality Inspector - Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) to support a major LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) project. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, monitoring, and verifying all electrical, instrumentation, control system, and telecommunications installation activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, applicable codes and standards, and quality management requirements.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience performing quality inspections on large LNG, petrochemical, refinery, gas processing, power generation, or other major industrial construction projects and have a strong understanding of electrical and instrumentation installation, testing, and commissioning requirements.

Functional job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
  • Perform quality inspections of electrical and instrumentation installation activities throughout construction, pre-commissioning, and commissioning phases.
  • Verify work is executed in accordance with project specifications, approved procedures, drawings, codes, standards, and client requirements.
  • Inspect and monitor installation of:
    • Medium- and low-voltage electrical systems
    • Switchgear and substations
    • Motor Control Centers (MCCs)
    • Power distribution systems
    • Instrument tubing and impulse lines
    • Process instrumentation and analyzers
    • Control valves and field devices
    • Distributed Control Systems (DCS)
    • Emergency Shutdown Systems (ESD)
    • Fire and Gas Detection Systems
    • Fiber optic and telecommunications systems
    • Cable trays, conduit, and cable installations
  • Conduct inspections for cable pulling, termination, grounding, bonding, and equipment installation.
  • Verify calibration, loop checks, function testing, and system validation activities.
  • Witness and document electrical and instrumentation testing activities.
  • Ensure Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) are properly implemented and documented.
  • Review inspection reports, test records, turnover packages, and quality documentation for completeness and accuracy.
  • Identify non-conforming work and initiate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) when required.
  • Support corrective action and resolution of quality deficiencies.
  • Work closely with construction, engineering, commissioning, and client representatives to resolve inspection-related issues.
  • Participate in quality audits, walkdowns, punch-list activities, and turnover inspections.
  • Maintain accurate and timely quality records in accordance with project requirements.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure all inspection activities are performed in compliance with project HSE requirements.


Required Education, Experience, & Skills:
  • Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent industry experience in Electrical, Instrumentation, Electronics, or a related field OR equivalent construction experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of quality inspection experience on LNG, petrochemical, refinery, gas processing, power generation, or other major industrial projects.
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Electrical and instrumentation installation practices
    • Instrument calibration and loop testing
    • Cable installation and termination standards
    • DCS, PLC, and control system installations
    • Hazardous area installation requirements
    • Mechanical completion and turnover processes
    • Commissioning and startup support activities
  • Working knowledge of:
    • NEC (National Electrical Code)
    • NFPA requirements
    • ISA standards
    • IEEE standards
    • IEC standards
  • Ability to read and interpret:
    • P&IDs
    • Loop drawings
    • Wiring diagrams
    • Single-line diagrams
    • Hook-up drawings
    • Electrical schematics
    • Instrument data sheets
  • Experience preparing detailed inspection reports and quality documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality excellence.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Direct LNG project experience strongly preferred.
  • API, NICET, ISA, NETA, or other industry-recognized certifications.
  • Experience with Honeywell, Emerson DeltaV, Yokogawa, ABB, Siemens, or similar control systems.
  • Experience supporting commissioning, startup, and system turnover activities.
  • Familiarity with electronic quality management and turnover systems.
  • Previous experience working within EPC, EPCM, or owner-led project organizations.
