  • Maintain audit readiness for internal and regulatory audits.
  • Analyze quality performance data using statistical quality tools like SPC.
  • Develop reports and KPIs to monitor quality performance.

Job Description

As a Quality Engineer, you'll be responsible for driving continuous improvement, process capability, regulatory compliance, and corrective action effectiveness throughout StandardAero's Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) operations. This position partners with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Quality teams to identify systemic issues, reduce defects and rework, improve process performance, and strengthen compliance with FAA Part 145, AS9110, customer, and internal requirements. The Quality Engineer serves as a technical resource for root cause analysis, risk management, statistical analysis, process improvement, and quality system effectiveness.

What You'll do:
  • Lead root cause investigations using structured problem-solving methodologies including 8D, A3, DMAIC, 5 Whys, and Fishbone Analysis.
  • Drive cross-functional corrective and preventive action (CAPA) activities, ensuring timely implementation and effectiveness validation.
  • Analyze quality escapes, audit findings, customer complaints, defects, and operational trends to identify systemic improvement opportunities.
  • Reduce rework, scrap, escapes, and test failures through data-driven quality and process improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with Operations and Engineering to improve process capability, throughput, efficiency, and first-pass yield.
  • Develop and maintain PFMEAs, risk assessments, control plans, and other risk mitigation tools.
  • Identify and implement mistake-proofing (Poka-Yoke) solutions and risk-reduction strategies.
  • Support Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational and quality performance.
  • Ensure compliance with FAA Part 145 regulations, AS9110 requirements, customer specifications, and company quality procedures.
  • Support internal, customer, regulatory, and certification audits while maintaining audit readiness.
  • Analyze quality and operational performance data using SPC, process capability analysis, sampling plans, and other statistical quality tools.
  • Develop reports, dashboards, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to support decision-making and monitor quality performance
  • Provide technical guidance, coaching, and training on quality systems, root cause analysis, risk management, and continuous improvement methodologies.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related technical discipline required. (Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.)
  • 5 years of experience in aerospace, aviation maintenance, manufacturing, or a highly regulated industry.
  • 5 years of experience supporting FAA Part 145, AS9110, AS9100, military, or commercial aerospace operations preferred.
  • 5 years demonstrating experience leading root cause investigations and corrective action activities.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers, auditors, regulators, and senior leadership.

  • ASQ Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE)
