Job Title: Quality Engineer
Reports to: Quality Manager (QM)
Location: San Marcos, TexasAbout this roleAs a Quality Engineer (QE) you will, in general, support process improvement activities, reporting to the QEM. You will support data gathering, data analysis and statistical Process Control (SPC) activities and their coordination. It will also be part of your role to perform randomized quality control checks on parts and/or assemblies to ensure process stability of production and conformance to customer driven requirements. The QE may also be required to prepare test data, determine root cause, identify areas for quality and process improvement and support Design Of Experiment (DOE) activities.
To ensure success as a quality engineer, you should have a strong working knowledge of quality concepts, excellent visual awareness, and the ability to work with minimal oversight.

What You'll Be Doing:- Championing APQP activities, including assuring our PFD, PFMEA, and PCP meet AIAG standards and specific customer requirements.
- Analyzing production floor data and reporting to the QM.
- Following up on corrective action reports, including customer complaints. Lead CAPA activities as needed.
- Monitoring and updating productivity metrics. Supporting manufacturing by translating SPC and other quality data into actionable productivity and CI plans.
- Ensuring ongoing product quality and reporting concerns as they arise.
We are Looking for Someone Who: - Has a Bachelor's Degree in engineering or a science-related field. And has a minimum of 2-3 years in manufacturing or 5 years in QE functions.
- Possesses a working knowledge of quality management systems such as ISO9000, TS16949.
- Has excellent problem-solving ability with experience in tools like 8D, 5Why, DMAIC.
- Possesses Lean Six Sigma training and/or project management training.
- Is able to read and interpret drawings and supplemental specifications. Experience with GD&T is preferred.
- Can display a working knowledge of SPC and inferential and descriptive statistics for manufacturing.
- Understands the statistical methods of DOE and has previous experience with Minitab is also a plus.
- Is familiar with AIAG tools.
- Has experience collecting/collating data and drafting reports.
- Holds previous experience in a high-volume serial production environment is desired.
- Is able to multitask and establish priorities.
