Full Job Description
The primary role of the Quality Engineer is to ensure compliance throughout the organization on assigned programs or customers from product design through manufacturing and product support. The Quality Engineer will work directly with customers to ensure their quality concerns and needs are appropriately identified, communicated and resolved. Finds solutions on a variety of assigned projects using standard principles, theories, concepts, or techniques.

Major Responsibilities:
  • For assigned programs, customers, or products, is responsible as primary quality contact with Kaney, Inc. customer's quality organizations.
  • With limited or general supervision, is responsible to evaluate and investigate customer concerns, taking action to promptly address and correct issues. Proactively seeks guidance from quality management where needed.
  • Respond to customer requests in a timely manner for quality data and information (return goods status, corrective action responses, advance ship data, action item status, etc.)
  • Develop, submit, and track requests for deviations/waivers stemming from nonconforming material.
  • Review quotes and new P.O. contracts for quality requirements. Provide necessary input and concerns to appropriate internal departments ensuring that quality requirements are flowed to effected departments in a thorough and timely manner.
  • Review customer supplied quality ratings and report to management. Analyze data and with general or limited supervision, to take appropriate corrective action to address negative trends.
  • Coordinate and sponsor customer driven continuous improvement programs.
  • Responsible for the coordination, documentation and execution of customer delegated supplier quality requirements. Prepare program unique quality plans, as necessary, to meet customer contractual requirements.
  • Lead teams within the organization in the development and verification of effective root cause and corrective actions stemming from customer related issues. Provide appropriate level of communication to customer on progress of corrective actions.
  • Attain Designated Quality Representative (DQR) status with customers.
  • Perform compliance audits to customer requirements as defined on current P.O's. Document audit results and coordinate required corrective actions.
  • Performs assessments and internal audits on personnel, processes, and procedures to ensure compliance to specifications, procedures, and industry standards.
  • Develop Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documentation for new and existing programs (MSA, Capability Studies, etc.).
  • Audit suppliers, monitor supplier performance, and work with suppliers to improve when needed.
  • Review and approve new and/or revised Operator Plans.
  • Operating within the scope of the Quality Management System, makes recommendations for process improvements to reduce project risks.
  • Provide day-to-day technical assistance to personnel inspecting and testing product.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality or other related field, or minimum 5 years of progressive experience working in a comparable capacity.
  • Solid working knowledge of ISO9001, AS9102, and AS9100 standards.
  • Advance knowledge of GD&T.
  • Knowledge in multiple systematized approaches to corrective action methodologies.


Salary Description

$75,000-$90,000
