Full Job Description
Overview

The Quality Engineer I will apply engineering knowledge, problem solving skills and ingenuity to resolve quality issues for all Humanscale Products. They will also drive continuous improvement for product and process performance.

Responsibilities
  • Customer Focus and Continuous Improvement
  • Directly responsible for ensuring all quality standards for products are met prior to shipment to customer
  • Investigates, conducts tests or experiments, gathers data, and performs preliminary analysis for product performance issues.
  • Conducts root cause investigation and is responsible for driving the implementation of corrective action and preventive measures
  • Directly responsible for customer complaint reduction to assigned Humanscale Product line
  • Initiates, leads and participates in continuous improvement projects
  • Operations
    • Works with experienced QEs to disposition non-conforming material
    • Oversees efforts and works with production, inventory control and inspection teams to quarantine/segregate parts when nonconformance is identified
    • Directs workers engaged in measuring, testing products and tabulating data concerning test set up and procedure to follow
    • When sort/rework of nonconforming material is required, provides technical support as required
    • Participates in Lean activities including Kaizen events and 6S audits
  • Quality Systems
    • Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation, utilizing knowledge in mechanical and electrical engineering fields
    • Devises sampling procedures and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data

Contributes to the compilation/updating of training material, SOP’s, and QC Criteria as required

Qualifications
  • B.S. degree or equivalent in a mechanical or electrical engineering discipline
  • 0-2 years of experience in Quality Engineering (in an ISO certified manufacturing environment preferred)
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
  • Solid communication skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to lead cross-functional teams and drive projects to successful closure.
  • Ability to demonstrate accuracy and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work well in a team environment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Sitting 70% - Walking/Standing 30%
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
  • Long periods of close work on computer screen
  • Interpret, analyze, research and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Climate controlled office space
  • Onsite 5 days a week
  • Use of hands to operate tools, install, adjust and attach parts
  • Understanding and working with machines & mechanical systems
  • Knowledge and ability to use computers & related technology efficiently
  • The worker is required to have visual acuity, which is essential for tasks that require attention to detail, such as operating machinery or performing quality control

Salary Range: $68,032-$99,232
