GD Energy Products is looking for a Quality Engineer to work in Fort Worth, TX.

Job Summary:
The Quality Engineer will provide quality assurance support to the product development team, resolving defects and other potential issues and ensuring that products meeting engineering specifications.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position will guide the work duties of plant level Quality Inspectors.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for site Quality Manamgent System, ISO 9001:2015 compliance, and project support for a growing manufacturing company. This includes driving results and fostering collaboration to ensure compliant Quality Systems and continuous improvement at the site.
  • Collaborates and partners with multiple stakeholders through cross-functional Quality Improvement Activities to ensure QMS compliance is incorporated into daily operations. Perform responsibilities and addresses problems with limited supervision.
  • Reviews design plans, process procedures, test procedures, and quality manuals to understand the scope, requirements and function of products.
  • Ensure products meet the organizations and customers' quality and product integrity requirements.
  • Provides leadership to formation and sustained performance of action oriented RCCA along with Quality Improvement initiatives i.e. CAPA or PCCA initiates that drive Continuous Improvement culture.
  • Identifies root causes of problems in the production process; recommends and/or implements corrective action measures.
  • Analyzes data to identify trends in product quality or defects with the goal of mitigating and preventing recurrence associated with future defects.
  • Maintain the requirements related to keeping the site ISO 9001:2015 certified.
  • Education and working knowledge of RCCA methodologies, concentration in Root Cause, Quality Improvement, Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline preferred.
  • Quality Engineer work experience. Knowledge of Quality Management Systems, and communication skills. Proficient in project management and problem solving.
  • Oversee QM lot/First Article Inspections using First In First Out (FIFO) or through communication of inspection priority criteria utilizing SAP platform.
  • Ensure the generation of adequately detailed and yet practical FAIs records that are maintained and stored for future review purposes.
  • Must be willing to learn and obtain experience as needed for successful management of site level QMS. Must be willing to work as a team player with production and the Quality Team.
  • Continuous Improvement. Provide leadership working in cross-functional teams to drive superb Quality Improvement initiatives along with solid contributions towards progressing leading indicators to achieve a world-class Quality Management System.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Extensive knowledge of or the ability to quickly learn the organization's production processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to serve as a liaison with developers, project managers, and customer support.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Internal Auditor certification is strongly preferred.
  • SAP experience is strongly preferred.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline required.
  • Three to five years of related experience required; five to ten years of experience is preferred.
  • Supervision and leadership experience are preferred.


Physical Requirements:
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times.
