Full Job Description
Quality Engineer II

Reporting to the Quality Manager this position develops, maintains, and improves all aspects of G&W's quality program as it relates to production operations. This includes but not limited to shop floor problem solving, root cause analysis, FMEA, NCR's, Control Plans, and Supplier issue management. Additionally, this position will develop ISO auditing and supplier quality along with APQP process skills for career growth.

As a Quality Engineer II you will:
  • Review PPAP submissions, summarize, document and process, checking against organizational submission requirements.
  • Analyze and address metrology concerns on PPAP part dimensional analysis reports.
  • Track and summarize PPAP submission performance, facilitating feedback to suppliers for submission issues.
  • Managing the implementation of methods and procedures for process control and improvement to ensure products meet ideal standards. This includes designing experiments to understand sources of variation affecting products and processes and applying statistical process control (SPC) methods for data analysis.
  • Collaborating with the supplier quality team to address quality problems, ensure corrective actions are implemented, and contribute to supplier quality improvement programs.
  • Leading troubleshooting efforts for quality issues with diverse teams, conducting root cause analysis activities, and driving short-term and long-term corrective actions.
  • Participating in engineering design reviews and providing recommendations to enhance the quality and manufacturability of new designs.
  • Utilize Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to identify and mitigate potential failure modes in processes and products.
  • Applying sound and systematic problem-solving methodologies to identify, prioritize, communicate, and resolve quality issues.
  • Performing operational Material Review Board (MRB) walks and consolidating failure data for analysis.
  • Manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) and implement corrective actions.
  • Getting root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions in place while ensuring adherence to the 8D methodology.
  • Investigating first pass yield failures and implementing corrective actions to prevent similar failures from occurring in the future.
  • Ensuring containment activities are performed when non-conformances are discovered to prevent repeat issues.
  • Working as a team member on various cross-functional High Impact Project teams to address quality-related challenges.
  • Reporting quality issues, performance metrics, and status updates to management and other department team members as needed. Additionally, communicating with engineering, suppliers, and operations regarding issues, process improvements, or other activities.
  • Conducting internal audits based on ISO 9001 standards to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Other duties as assigned


We are looking for someone who:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Materials, Chemical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
  • 3 -5 years experience
  • Basic GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerance) and inspection equipment / metrology knowledge
  • Familiarity with PPAP Processes and tools (control plans, process flow diagrams, FMEA)
  • Strong knowledge of quality assurance methodologies, tools, and standards (e.g., ISO 9001, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing).
  • Proven experience with root cause analysis and problem-solving techniques.
  • Excellent analytical and data interpretation skills.
  • Proficient in using quality management software and tools.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and quality.

Ideally you will also have:
  • Certification in quality engineering (e.g., CQE, Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt).
  • Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and advanced quality planning (AQP).
  • Familiarity with industry-specific quality standards and regulations
  • Plant operations or issue resolution experience preferred

What we offer you:

Typical pay is $72,980 - 97,193 annually.
