JOB SUMMARY

Functioning as a member of the senior management team, the Quality Director is responsible for developing and maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure that manufactured products and the organization consistently follow QMS requirements while meeting meeting or exceeding customer expectations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Essential functions of this job include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Promote and support the requirements and principles of the Company's Quality Management System (QMS) per the AS9100D & ISO9001:2015 standards.
  • Lead and manage the Quality Department, including Quality Engineers, Quality Technicians, and Quality Inspectors, by overseeing workflow, setting priorities, allocating resources, and holding the team accountable for meeting internal production schedules and customer deadlines.
  • Plan, schedule, and conduct internal audits of each department to verify compliance with the QMS and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs) and Opportunities for Improvement (OFIs) resulting from internal and external audits, customer feedback, and quality system findings to drive continuous improvement and ensure compliance with the QMS.
  • Serve as the primary quality representative during daily contract reviews, identifying quality risks, inspection requirements, and gaging needs prior to production.
  • Partner with Production, Engineering, Scheduling, and other cross-functional teams to align quality resources with production schedules, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and enhance overall product quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customer and supplier quality audits, demonstrating compliance with customer requirements and applicable quality standards.
  • Manage customer quality relationships by serving as the primary point of contact for quality concerns, surveys, self-assessments, root cause investigations, corrective actions, and ongoing communication to ensure customer quality requirements are consistently met.
  • Champion a culture of quality throughout the organization by providing training and promoting adherence to the QMS.
  • Oversee first article, in-process, shop floor, and final inspection activities to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Prepare and review customer data packages and quality documentation prior to shipment, when required.
  • Monitor quality system performance, analyze quality metrics, and report results and improvement opportunities to executive leadership.
  • Ensure customer requirements remain a primary focus throughout the organization.
  • Maintain the integrity of the QMS during organizational, process, or product changes.
  • Ensure quality processes consistently achieve intended results and support operational excellence.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • 15 years of experience in the field of precision part manufacturing is required.
  • 15 years of experience managing an AS9100 or ISO9001 quality system is required.

According to the New York Pay Transparency law, pay range for this job is $100,000 - $160,000 per year. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
