Job Description

Job Summary:

This position is responsible to plan, perform, and document Quality Control (QC) inspections in one or more specialized areas with minimal supervision at the Piketon and vendor/supplier facilities. Personnel in this position are experienced in Quality Control inspection and acceptance and will ensure Quality requirements are met in accordance with the Quality Assurance Program Description (QAPD) and U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) regulations.

What You Will Be Doing:
  • Plans, performs, and documents assigned inspection activities
  • Plans and performs oversight and monitoring of manufacturing, construction, or operations activities as assigned
  • Identifies and documents nonconforming conditions
  • Follows Document Control and Records Management procedures for filing and retrieving quality/non-quality inspection records and procedures
  • Reinspects reworked or repaired items to verify completion and effectiveness of corrective actions and closes them out as appropriate
  • Interfaces with outside contractors to develop and complete QC inspection plans as needed
  • Supports supplier selection and performance evaluation activities
  • Plan and perform commercial grade surveys and other commercial grade dedication activities as needed
  • Supports Readiness Assessments, Independent Readiness Reviews, and Operational Readiness Reviews as assigned
  • Serve as an Investigation Team member when assigned
  • Interfaces with regulators, such as the NRC or DOE, during inspections and assessments


We'd Love to Hear from Candidates With:
  • Associate degree in a related field or equivalent Quality experience. Typical experience ranges from 2+ years of inspection/assessment experience in an industrial or nuclear setting
  • Experience in a quality control role for design and construction and knowledge of field construction activities.
  • Requires proficient computer skills, such as but not limited to, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Adobe to process records and generate reports, charts, spreadsheets, and presentations
  • Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a "Q" level security clearance

A Successful Candidate Brings:
  • Previous experience at NRC regulated site
  • Certification in one or more of the following:
    • Receiving, Dimensional, Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Inspection
    • Visual Weld Inspection (AWS CWI preferred)
    • Leak Testing (Helium Leak Testing preferred)
    • Liquid Penetrant, Magnetic Particle, Radiographic, or Ultrasonic Inspection
  • BS-Science or Technical education
  • American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certifications
  • Lead NQA-1 Auditor Certification
  • Applicable Quality Assurance Industry Knowledge including NRC/DOE Regulations (NQA-1 and DOE O 414.1D)
  • Military experience
  • Possesses a "Q" or "L" clearance

Pay

Estimated Starting Base Salary Range: $64,248 - $107,080. This position is Bonus eligible. Centrus considers several factors when extending job offers, including but not limited to candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. While the posted range reflects the anticipated hiring range for this position, compensation above the range may be considered for candidates with exceptional qualifications and directly relevant experience.
