We are currently looking for a Quality Control Manager who will report to Director, Quality Control and contribute to ensure compliance of manufactured valves at delivery.

Responsibilities

Compliance

  • Assure plant compliance to our quality certification
  • Assist the QA Manager in deploying internal procedures and Quality work instructions
  • Ensure that materials, processes, and finished goods meet the quality standards set by the organization
  • Organize and participate in quality audits, performed by internal or external auditors. Structure and follow corrective actions
  • Control non-conforming product to the extent described in the Quality Manual
  • Coordinate and follow Return of Goods (RGA) investigations
  • Maintain records and prepare reports relative to the work


Reporting

  • Develop, maintain, and analyze quality related metrics and key of performance indicators to identify nonconformities and initiate quality improvement plans across the plant
  • Prepare and present reports on plant quality status and activities when required
  • Support plant to meet rework cost targets by monitoring the Cost Of Non Quality (CONQ) KPI
  • Work in close collaboration with production leaders (Value Stream Managers and supervisors) to implement quality metrics/KPIs in production cells to address quality issues and help cells to meet rework cost reduction targets


Leadership and client support

  • Lead rapid intervention team (ANDON) to support the resolution of production line disruptions due to non-conformities and technical support
  • Lead ANDON team to conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to eliminate defect recurrence, thereby supporting on-time delivery and enhancing customer satisfaction
  • Interact with customer representatives/inspectors and regulatory authorities
  • Organize and participate, as needed, to customer witness activities (Test, paint, NDT, final inspections, etc.)


Supervision

  • Supervise the unionized QC personnel during the performance of their duties, offering both technical and non-technical guidance
  • Evaluate and verify employees' performance through the review of completed work assignments and work techniques
  • Develop and train QC personnel and shop employees in accordance with QA procedures and instructions


Your profile

  • College Diploma in a technical discipline preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years' related experience in Quality Control, ideally in a valve manufacturing environment
  • ASME, piping, pressure vessels
  • Knowledge of the relevant ASME/ASTM specifications (as determined by product and Supervisor)
  • Green Belt or more is an asset
  • Knowledge of QA Manuals and practices with respect to manufacturing, certification, marking and stamping requirements as applicable to relevant codes and standards, ISO9001
  • Proficiency in the office suite
  • US Citizenship required
  • Ability to work under pressure and time management skills
  • Superior problem solving skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Leadership and communication abilities
