Description

We're seeking a hands-on, results-driven Quality Control Manager to lead operational quality execution across machining, paint, and final assembly in a fast-paced, multi-shift manufacturing environment. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for real-time quality control, defect containment, and protecting the customer-while ensuring production keeps moving.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Own execution of all quality control activities, including inspection, containment, and rework across multiple plants and three shifts
  • Lead and develop Quality Control Supervisors, CMM Programmers, and Production Quality Technicians and Inspectors
  • Communicates effectively with operations, engineering, and leadership and provides clear direction during escalations
  • Partner with operations to support daily production and respond to escalations in real time
  • Manage nonconforming material processes, including disposition, rework validation, and scrap transactions
  • Own inspection equipment calibration process including scheduling, vendor coordination, and escalation of overdue or nonconforming equipment
  • Own Quality Control Instruction deployment, maintenance, and operational alignment to manufacturing processes
  • Ensure integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of inspection data and quality records
  • Provide feedback to Quality Engineering on control plan effectiveness and improvement opportunities
  • Support audits and ensure execution of corrective actions within the quality control scope
  • Other duties as assigned by department leadership

WORKING ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
  • Predominantly operates in a shop floor or warehouse environment. Position requires walking frequently through shift on concrete in production areas. May be exposed to moderate heat, light dust, fumes, cold temperatures, and noise. Adequate hearing, eye, and footwear protection is required in production areas.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
  • This position has direct and indirect supervisory responsibilities.


SCHEDULE:
  • Standard Office Hours Monday through Friday

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related technical field preferred (experience may be considered in lieu of degree)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing quality, quality control leadership, or operational quality systems
  • Demonstrated experience leading inspection teams or quality control functions in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Manufacturing quality systems
    • Inspection and containment systems including working knowledge of GD&T, Statistical Process Controls, Gauge R&R
    • Calibration and measurement systems
    • Control Plans and SC/CC requirements
  • Working knowledge of IATF 16949 requirements preferred
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and influence production and support teams
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques with emphasis on Standardized Work, Continuous Improvement, 5S, and JIT principles is required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Close visual acuity and repetitive movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers to operate standard office equipment required. Will need to walk short distances and may occasionally exert up to 10 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
  • Must be able to pass a physical examination to confirm ability to perform the job. This position includes extensive walking, regularly stooping, bending, or kneeling, and lifting, carrying, or manipulating objects up to 50 pounds. This position requires repetitive movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers to perform daily responsibilities. Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment while working.
