Full Job Description
As Quality Control Manager, you'll lead inspection activities that protect product quality and customer satisfaction in a manufacturing environment. This role exists to standardize how quality is checked, surface issues early, and drive corrective action so shipments go out right the first time. Key responsibilities include developing and launching inspection procedures and work instructions; reviewing quality-control data for alignment with company policies; identifying root causes and implementing corrective and preventive actions; communicating quality findings and solution options to leadership; monitoring customer feedback/complaints, process effectiveness, and supplier performance; and managing the quality control/inspection team to ensure timely inspections and defect-free delivery.

You start by checking the status of in-process and queued inspections, then review the latest inspection records for trends that need attention. Throughout the day you move between a computer workstation and the assembly area, occasionally using magnification tools while verifying printed circuit boards. You connect with production and suppliers to clarify questions that come up, and you make time to respond to incoming customer feedback. Before wrap-up, you summarize open items for leadership and confirm the team's priorities for the next round of builds and shipments.

Essential Functions
  • Develop and initiate procedures and work instructions for inspection to ensure the quality of product.
  • Identify and resolve quality issues by determining root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Review all data obtained during quality control activities to ensure consistency with company policies and procedures.
  • Keep management team abreast of issues identified during quality control activities and provide potential solutions to be implemented.
  • Monitor customer feedback and complaints, process effectiveness, and supplier activities and verify the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
  • Manage quality control team and provide guidance to ensure all projects are inspected in a timely manner and delivered to the customers without defects.

Required & Preferred Education/Experience/Skills
  • Bachelor's Degree from four-year college or university.
  • 5+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and suppliers.
  • Ability to manage inspection team and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Good working knowledge of IPC-A-610 Acceptance Standard.
  • Relevant experience or education in electronics manufacturing is a plus.

  • Requires operating a computer.
  • Requires occasional physical lifting of printed circuit boards up to 20 lbs.
  • This job operates in a manufacturing assembly environment.
