Full Job Description
Manage and coordinate all Quality Inspection and Calibration activities at Regal Rexnord PSI Bearings location. Provide daily support to Manufacturing, Manufacturing Engineering, Purchasing and Contracts in Inspection related issues, drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout the manufacturing & inspection processes.

Key Accountabilities
  • Effectively supervise and direct all Quality Inspection and Calibration activities on a daily basis; establish clear performance expectations and accountability for department associates.
  • Participate in all Quality Management System audits (internal, customer and registration) and Product Quality audits (customer) conducted at PSI Bearings.
  • Determine both the actual root cause of identified inspection problems and required corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Execute decisions on quality issues and risk management.
  • Implement continuous improvement processes that increase Quality of the product and reduce manufacturing inspection cost.
  • Determines staffing requirements to meet quality and delivery expectations.
  • Manages inspection backlog and turnaround time metrics.
  • Direct and be able to prioritize multiple inspection jobs in a high pace environment.
  • Supervise employees in the areas of personnel actions in compliance with company policies.
  • Grow and develop team's knowledge and skills through coaching and guidance.
  • Ability to communicate and to work well with other functional departments.


Capabilities and Success Factors
  • Knowledge of dimensional inspection measurement systems and their application for the inspection iof complex products, and general understanding of ASME Y 14.5 (GD&T).
  • Ability to promote and foster a Continuous Improvement culture.

  • Ability to lead, drive change and influence others.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft office applications such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Ability to conduct and maintain a professional demeanor when interacting with internal personnel, customers, suppliers and external auditors
  • Effective communicator - strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Four (4) year college degree in Engineering (or related technical field) and a minimum of five years supervisory experience in Quality Control; work experience in an aerospace manufacturing (machine shop) environment is preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills and previous experience managing Quality Inspection teams
  • Strong understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC), Gage R&R Studies and lean systems.
  • Understanding of AS9100 and ISO 10012 (ANSI/NCSL Z540-1) and the ability to apply all specified requirements in a cost-effective approach.
  • Ability to determine the appropriate dispositions for nonconforming product and function as quality representative of Preliminary Review (PR).
  • General understanding of metallurgy; ability to understand the physical and mechanical properties of metals as affected by composition, mechanical working and heat treatments.
  • General understanding of FAA requirements; previous experience as a DMIR, DAR, or DER is desired.

Expected Salary: $110,000 - $175,000 annually.
