About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced QHSE Manager to lead safety initiatives in our mobile power generation business segment, ensuring the highest standards for our teams, clients, and communities. This role oversees the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of safety programs, ensuring compliance with OHS regulations, industry standards, and company objectives. A central focus is fostering a strong safety culture and mitigating risks across the deployment, operation, and maintenance of mobile power systems. The ideal candidate brings extensive safety management experience, deep knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, and proven leadership in fast-paced, on-site environments.

Essential Functions
  • Develop and execute safety strategies for mobile power generation, ensuring alignment with QHSE goals and safe practices for high-voltage systems, fuel management, and emergency response.
  • Lead and mentor safety team members, set performance goals, and support professional development to ensure strong safety oversight across all projects.
  • Conduct and oversee risk assessments to identify and mitigate hazards including electrocution, falls, confined spaces, fire/explosion risks, and environmental stressors.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental, and safety regulations, including standards for electric power generation. Monitor regulatory updates and revise policies accordingly.
  • Design and oversee safety programs-training, inspections, and audits-to enforce consistent safety standards throughout all project phases.
  • Manage safety training for employees and contractors on medium voltage systems, PPE use, load bank testing, and emergency procedures.
  • Lead incident investigations, conduct root cause analyses, implement corrective actions, and report findings to QHSE leadership.
  • Collaborate on the development and testing of emergency response plans for outages, disasters, and equipment failures, coordinating with external agencies when needed.
  • Ensure safe installation, operation, and disposal of equipment (e.g., generators, switchgear), and enforce safe handling of fuels and lubricants.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture through employee engagement, initiatives, meetings, and ongoing communication.
  • Deliver detailed safety reports to leadership, track incident data, compliance metrics, and recommend improvements. Maintain thorough safety records.
  • Partner with operations, technicians, supervisors, and contractors to embed safety into daily activities and align with quality and environmental standards.
  • Identify and implement safety enhancements, leverage new technologies, and stay current with industry best practices to maintain a high-performing safety program.

Experience/Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 7-10 years of safety management experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role, ideally within power generation, electrical utilities, or mobile equipment industries.
  • Valid safety certifications (e.g., CSP, CIH, or equivalent).
  • Strong expertise in mobile power systems, electrical safety, high-voltage operations, and fuel handling.
  • Deep knowledge of OSHA regulations related to electric power generation, plus familiarity with environmental standards and QHSE frameworks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety management information systems for reporting, data analysis, and program management.
  • Ability to work in dynamic, on-site environments, often requiring travel to various job sites.
  • Flexibility to work non-traditional hours, including on-call shifts, to respond to emergencies or support critical operations.
