Test Automation Lead - Selenium / Robot FrameworkOverview / Summary We are looking for an experienced Test Automation Lead for a retail client engagement. The role requires a hands-on QE/Test Lead with automation expertise, including experience with Robot Framework. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience designing and maintaining automation frameworks for web, API, and end-to-end testing.
The role will lead automation efforts, develop reusable components, create and execute automation scripts, and drive continuous improvement in automation practices. Retail domain experience is preferred, particularly in eCommerce, order management, inventory, supply chain, or customer-facing digital applications.
Key Responsibilities - Design, develop, and implement scalable test automation frameworks.
- Create and maintain automation scripts for functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Work with QA, development, business, and product teams to identify automation opportunities.
- Build reusable automation components, libraries, utilities, and test data handling mechanisms.
- Execute automated test suites and analyze results.
- Integrate automation scripts with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Git, or similar tools.
- Support test planning, estimation, execution tracking, and defect management.
- Improve automation coverage across critical business flows.
- Mentor junior automation engineers and promote automation best practices.
- Support API testing, backend validation, and data validation as needed.
- Maintain traceability between requirements, test cases, automation scripts, and defects.
Required Qualifications - Strong experience in automation framework design and implementation.
- Hands-on experience with Selenium and/or Playwright.
- Good knowledge of Cypress and Robot Framework is preferred.
- Experience with JavaScript, Java, Python, or similar scripting languages.
- API testing experience using Postman, REST-assured, or similar tools.
- CI/CD integration experience using Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Git, or similar tools.
- Experience with JIRA, qTest, ALM/QC, or Azure DevOps.
- Strong understanding of functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Ability to troubleshoot automation failures and improve script stability.
- Good SQL knowledge for backend validation.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
