QA/QC Manager - HVAC & Plumbing Construction
Position Overview

The QA/QC Manager - HVAC & Plumbing is responsible for ensuring all mechanical construction activities meet project specifications, industry standards, and quality expectations. This role oversees quality assurance and quality control processes throughout the project lifecycle, working closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, field teams, and subcontractors to ensure installations are compliant, documented, and ready for successful turnover.

This position is ideal for a detail-oriented construction professional with a strong understanding of mechanical systems, field inspections, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
  • Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC):
    Inspect field installations to ensure HVAC and Plumbing systems meet project specifications, drawings, and applicable industry standards (e.g., ASME, AWS)
  • Documentation Management:
    Review submittals, RFIs (Requests for Information), and maintain accurate and complete project records
  • Field Coordination:
    Liaise between site crews, subcontractors, and project management teams to ensure alignment with quality standards and project requirements
  • Site Safety:
    Monitor work areas to ensure compliance with safety standards and proactively identify and address potential hazards
  • Conduct and track inspections of HVAC equipment, ductwork, piping, and plumbing systems
  • Identify deficiencies and work with field teams to ensure corrective actions are implemented in a timely manner
  • Coordinate with Project Managers and Superintendents to support quality standards across all project phases
  • Assist in developing and maintaining QA/QC procedures, checklists, and reporting systems
  • Support testing, commissioning, and system start-ups to verify installation quality and performance
  • Maintain detailed QA/QC logs, inspection reports, and documentation within project management systems
  • Turnover and Closeout Support:
    Assist in compiling and reviewing documentation required for final client acceptance, ensuring all quality standards are met prior to turnover
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial HVAC and/or Plumbing construction, QA/QC, or project management
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, construction documents, and quality control processes
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as ASME and AWS
  • Proficiency with construction management software and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and follow-up skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
