Full Job Description
Job Description: Tria Federal is seeking a QA Engineer with strong experience using JavaScript and/or TypeScript who will be part of a collaborative and Agile team building modern, user-friendly applications supporting mission-critical U.S. federal government enterprise IT solutions.

The successful candidate will possess demonstrated experience performing manual software testing as well as developing and maintaining automated integration, API, and UI test suites. Candidates should have hands-on experience creating automated tests using modern JavaScript/TypeScript-based testing frameworks and a solid understanding of software quality assurance best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.

Experience with Playwright is highly desired, as this role will utilize Playwright as the primary UI automation testing framework. The QA Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop comprehensive test strategies, identify and report defects, and ensure high-quality software releases through a combination of manual and automated testing.

Basic Requirements:
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Federal Position of Trust clearance designation.
  • Must reside in and be able to perform work in the United States.
  • Must have lived in the United States for 3 of the last 5 years.
  • Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of related experience in related field.
  • Must possess a minimum of 2 years of automation testing experience using one or more frameworks like Selenium and Cypress.
  • Must have experience building automated tests for modern web applications using JavaScript/TypeScript.

Additional Qualifications:
  • Experience testing RESTful APIs using tools such as Playwright and Postman.
  • Experience with automation testing concepts, framework & best practices from industry in automating web applications.
  • Experience with sources control tools like GIT.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment using tools like Jira and Confluence.
  • Ability to write clear and concise test cases and test plans.
  • Proficiency in designing and managing realistic test data sets to mimic real-world scenarios.
  • Understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and software testing life cycle (STLC).
  • Understanding sprint cycles and collaborating with Scrum teams within an Agile development environment.
  • Expertise in identifying, documenting, and reporting defects in a detailed and reproducible manner using bug tracking systems such as Jira.
  • Expert communication (written and verbal) with ability to present best practices, processes and workflows to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, share knowledge, and contribute to the team's success.
  • Must show appetite for active learning, embracing change and mentoring others.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of SQL and familiarity with writing database scripts for backend validation.
  • Experience with continuous integration and delivery tools such as Jenkins or AWS CodeBuild.
  • Experience with log monitoring tools like Datadog and Splunk.
  • Knowledge using various IDEs like VS Code and IntelliJ.
  • Experience working in federal healthcare projects. Familiarity with CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services) projects is a plus.

Responsibilities:
  • Document test issues and work with development team to validate/recreate.
  • Perform retesting and regression testing.
  • Document test results for incorporation into the Requirements Traceability and Verification Matrix.
  • Provide support to stakeholders during acceptance testing, including test script walkthroughs, document testing issues and test results, and answering questions on system functionality.
  • Develop and implement program test plans, quality assurance plans, programs, and procedures using the testing tools.
  • Develop automated test scripts to validate functional, technical, and performance requirements.
  • Execute test scripts during internal system testing.
  • Work with agile team members to make sure functional objectives are met.
  • Contribute to team discussion and agile ceremonies.
  • Collaborate with developers to ensure that tests are integrated into the development process.
  • Conduct code reviews to identify potential issues before they reach testing.
