The City of Bothell is seeking a
Public Works Maintenance Specialist to join the Streets Division. This position plays a vital role in maintaining the City's landscapes, parks, rights-of-way, and public spaces through vegetation management, landscape maintenance, and construction activities. We are looking for a skilled professional who values safety, demonstrates strong leadership and teamwork, and takes pride in delivering excellent service to the community.

- Default schedule will be the following: Mondays-Thursdays (4/10) every Friday off (6:00 am - 4:30 pm)
What will you do in this position?- Perform landscape maintenance and construction tasks, including formal landscaping, vegetation management, irrigation repair, troubleshooting, and tree pruning.
- Inspect worksites, identify maintenance needs, and determine appropriate methods, materials, and equipment to complete projects efficiently.
- Safely operate specialized tools and equipment while following City, State, Federal, and Public Works safety standards; recognize and report hazards and equipment issues.
- Train and support staff, promote teamwork and cross-training, and provide professional customer service to residents, contractors, and City employees.
- Build positive relationships between the City of Bothell and the community through courteous, cooperative interactions and adherence to City policies, goals, and priorities.
A successful candidate in this position will:- Have the ability to earn International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Certified Arborist certification within one year of employment if certification is not held at the time of hire.
- Learn and adapt to new tools and systems with ease to support work efficiency.
- Communicate clearly, respectfully, and professionally across a variety of settings.
- Quickly identify challenges and apply logical, evidence-based approaches to resolve them.
- Consistently deliver accurate, high-quality work with attention to detail.
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships across departments and disciplines.
