Job Title: Purchasing Supervisor
Department: Purchasing
Accountability: This position reports to the Sr. Procurement Manager
Job Description/Duties: As the Havis Purchasing Supervisor, the individual will oversee purchasing for specific Havis sites
Responsibilities: - Train, coach and mentor Buyers to support their professional development and promote consistent execution of procurement processes
- Manage the sourcing process including analysis, negotiation and selection to support year-over-year cost reduction initiatives
- Develop ideas and strategies to improve operational efficiency, add value, aid business performance and work towards a strategy of continuous improvement
- Analyze complex forecasting data and implement procurement strategies
- Analyze and report on slow moving/obsolete inventory
- Reconcile monthly expense report for the department
- Assure compliance to policies and procedures
- Utilize demand inputs, along with supply planning data to maintain an inventory and replenishment plan to support sales orders and Lead Time Programs
- Purchase components and tooling including multi-level sourcing to injection molded plastic, machined parts, sheet metal, stampings, electronics, silk screening, assemblies and hardware
- Utilize analytical concepts and tools to identify issues, resolve problems, and support supply chain planning metrics
- Manage timely resolution of part sourcing, quality and pricing issues affecting supply
- Process engineering change orders
- Serve as a member of cross-functional product development team which brings new products to market
- Work with Quality, Operations and Engineering to process defective/rejected parts for return to supplier
- Compile and analyze supplier scorecard data to evaluate performance metrics, including on-time delivery and conformance to requirements
- Process international sourcing efforts for other Havis companies
Requirements:- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management or related field or equivalent experience
- Career oriented, independent, self-starter with 10+ years' experience in Purchasing and/or Supply Chain Management of the following: injection molded plastic, machined parts, sheet metal, stampings, electronics, silk screening, assemblies, and/or hardware
- Experience in supervising or leading a team
- Ability to collect, assimilate, and synthesize data and convert it into relevant business information
- Ability to multi-task in a demanding timeline driven environment
- Must possess knowledge of product life cycle
- Must possess a strong attention to detail, accountability, and desire to grow professionally
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel
- Must be proficient in ERP systems, Intuitive and/or Visual software, a plus
- Ability to perform basic mathematical computations and apply them to daily activities
- Ability to understand written and verbal instructions in English
- Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively
- Visual requirements include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to focus
