POSITION SUMMARY:
The Purchasing Manager leadsthe direct materialsprocurement function for White RiverMarine Groups (WRMG)operations network that includes aluminum, fiberglass, and pontoon boats production as well as trailer, kayak, and component manufacturing. This leaders mission is to ensure efficient production operations through consistent material availability while maintaining balancedinventory positions.
This role is responsible for managing a team of purchasing agents while driving supplier performance, material availability, process standardization and continuous improvement efforts. Workscross-functionally with Manufacturing, Sourcing,Scheduling, Engineering, Finance, andLogisticsteams to support production schedules, optimize inventory investment, mitigate supply risk, and achieve operational excellence.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Escalate and drive resolution of material shortages, supplier delivery issues,logisticsdelays, and production constraints through cross-functional collaboration
Measure and improve key performance indicators: supplier on-time delivery, inventory levels & turns, shortages, schedule attainment, freight costs
Collaborate with Manufacturing, Sourcing, Engineeringin support of new product introductions,productor volume changes
