Full Job Description
The Purchasing Manager will oversee the planning, procurement, storage, control, and distribution of materials and products according to company needs and customer requirements. The Purchasing Manager will work daily with the Buyer, Operations Management, Project Management, and Logistics to assure company targets are met as efficiently as possible.

Duties/Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute purchasing strategies, tracking metrics to reduce expenses.
• Identify vendors and negotiate contracts to ensure the best possible pricing to enhance profitability, reducing operating costs and boosting efficiency.
• Maintaining effective working relationships with vendors and supervising vendor activities.
• Assesses current material availability; reasonably predicts future availability based on the market, delivery systems, and other variables.
• Collaborate with other departments and leadership to identify and develop needs and requirements for equipment, materials, products, and acceptable substitutions.
• Ensures quality of procured items and addresses problems when they arise.
• Stays current with purchasing technology trends and oversees purchase and implementation, as necessary.
• Prepare and process purchase orders and requisitions for materials, supplies, and equipment.
• Draft, explain, and implement instructions, policies, and procedures for purchasing and contract management.
• Evaluate and approve conditions for issuing and awarding bids.
• Resolve grievances with vendors, contractors, and suppliers.
• Acts as the company's representative in negotiations with suppliers.
• Coordinates removal or disposal of surplus materials.
• Administers the departmental budget.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or Business Administration desired
• Minimum 3 years of prior purchasing experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Minimum 3 years of prior supervisory experience.
