Responsibilities

  • Oversee several CLO funds and/or managed accounts, ensuring daily and monthly accounting accuracy.
  • Reconcile NAVs, transactions, and performance metrics between Barings and fund administrators.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and external parties like TPAs and auditors.
  • Assist with the Funds Audit process as needed and address service issues effectively.
  • Stay informed on client mandates and regulatory restrictions, acting as a subject matter expert.
  • Prepare portfolio reports and provide proactive oversight of holdings and transactions.
  • Identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements, including AI use cases.

Job Summary

Barings Global Public Portfolio Services Structured Credit team has an opening for a motivated individual who would like to join our innovative team of financial professionals.

 

Primary Responsibilities

The candidate will be required to support the following core processes:

 

Portfolio Oversight and Fund Accounting:

Supporting Structured Credit team within Global Public Portfolio Services in order to meet their main responsibilities including:

  • Full ownership and responsibility for several CLO funds and/or separately managed accounts including daily oversight as well as monthly review and sign off on internal accounting records.
  • TPA Oversight. Reconcile CLO Funds NAVs, transactions, valuations, management and performance fee calculations, distributions, capital calls, P&L, and other activity between Barings and the fund accountant/administrator's records.
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key internal Barings stakeholders including Portfolio Managers, Sales, Legal, Compliance, others across the organization, as well as supporting effective external working relationships with related third parties e.g. TPAs, auditors, investors.
  • Assist with Funds Audit process as needed.
  • Raise service issues in an appropriate manner and follow issues to resolution.
  • Maintain awareness of CLO fund/account client mandates, portfolio governing documents and regulatory restrictions. Act as subject matter expert on the funds/portfolios covered. 
  • Prepare relevant portfolio reporting as required.
  • Demonstrate significant level of expertise of the holdings, terms, and transactions of multiple portfolios to provide intuitive and proactive oversight of these portfolios.

 

Systems and Operational process improvement:

  • Identify process inefficiencies and make improvement recommendations including but not limited to AI/Co-pilot use cases; Improve procedures implemented, document manual processes and work with relevant parties to reduce/eliminate.
  • Assist with system implementation and testing as needed.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Accounting, Finance, or related business field preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years Fund Accounting/Portfolio Administration experience. CPA and/or Audit experience a plus.
  • Advanced Excel skills preferred, experience/interest in exploring AI/Co-pilot a plus, Power BI experience would be a benefit.
  • Previous experience with Aladdin would be a benefit.
  • Effective, results oriented team player with strong interpersonal skills; possess very strong organizational and analytical skills; must be very detail oriented.
  • Ability to handle high volumes of work under tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
