Full Job Description
Meta is seeking a Public Policy Associate Manager to drive operational processes and project management across state and local initiatives. The ideal candidate brings experience in operations, a track record of effective project management, and the ability to collaborate across functions. This role partners closely with Finance, Legal, Communications, and other Public Policy teams to advance Meta's state and local priorities. Candidates should bring a genuine interest in public policy and familiarity with Meta's products. Given the demands of the policy team, the candidate will sometimes be expected to work irregular hours that may include travel.

Responsibilities

Operations & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Manage planning, logistics, and tracking for budgets, contracts, legislative work, political engagement, and partner initiatives. Maintain and improve team trackers, documentation, and operational processes. Support rapid-response efforts and time-sensitive cross-functional projects
• Stakeholder Engagement: Coordinate and plan engagement with external state and local organizations. Manage assets for engagements, including visuals, sponsorship materials, and recap communications
• Legislative & Policy Support: Track, organize, and operationally support advocacy efforts on state legislation across the U.S. Develop briefing materials, assessments, and presentations as needed
• Internal Strategy & Execution: Drive processes leading to clarity and alignment on key priorities for the State and Local Policy Team. Provide timely updates and briefings to leadership and internal stakeholders. Prioritize and manage competing projects based on impact, deadlines, and stakeholder needs, and ensure timely delivery

Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
• 4+ years of work experience in policy, policy enforcement, government affairs, politics, or related field
• Understanding of state legislative processes and stakeholder engagement
• Demonstrated analytical-thinking and problem-solving experience
• Experience communicating cross-functionally, particularly in the area of consensus-building and persuasion
• Demonstrated track record of crafting clear and concise, emails, reports & documents for a broad range of stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working in a deadline-driven environment
• Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
• Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
• Familiarity with budgeting tools including Google Sheets, Quorum, MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite
• Experience in or with the technology industry
• Knowledge of Meta products and principles
• Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
• Law degree, MBA, MPP, or other advanced degree
