Summary

You will serve as a PUBLIC AFFAIRS SPECIALIST in the PLANS, POLICIES, AND OPERATIONS DIVISION of HQ US MARINE CORPS.

Duties

Help

  • You will serve as a subject matter expert and project manager responsible for planning, developing, managing, and executing the Department of Defense (DoD) Non-Lethal Weapons (NLW) Program communication and engagement strategy.
  • You will coordinate the DoD NLW Program communication engagement strategy with the Joint Intermediate Force Capabilities Office (JIFCO) staff, program stakeholders, and other higher headquarters, as required.
  • You will identify strategic communication and public affairs products, tools, and associated resources needed to document and implement the DOD NLW Program communication strategy.
  • You will assess program areas for current and future trends and recommend programs to fit projected trends.
  • You will manage assigned resources to include resource prioritization in support of strategy implementation.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a Contracting Officer Representative (COR) Certification within 12 months of assignment.
  • You will be required to complete the required Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) training within 12 months of hire date.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.


Qualifications

GS-12

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Managing a public affairs program for a segment of a major organization, government, or major company entity.

GS-13

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Managing a public affairs program for a major organization, government, or major company entity.
