Qualifications

• Current license to practice as a physical therapy assistant in your state.
• Graduated from a CAPTE-accredited physical therapy assistant program.
• One year of relevant physical therapy experience, ideally in home health care.
• Approval from regional clinical leaders needed if experience is less than one year, with mentoring or residency program participation.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy services under the supervision of a physical therapist as per the approved care plan.
• Record and report patient responses to treatment and changes in condition to the supervising PT and physician.
• Offer resources to promote wellness and prevention for future patient needs.
• Document supervision activities in the patient’s medical record as needed.
• Monitor and document patient responses to interventions accurately.
• Engage in patient care conferences, quality improvement activities, and peer-review processes.
• Ensure confidentiality of patient-therapist information and make follow-up care recommendations.
• Perform other assigned duties as necessary.
