Business Development Team Lead - Remote or Hybrid

The Role:

Prompt has an industry-leading BDR team. We are looking for a data-focused, highly motivated teammate to help manage the BDR team!

You will report to the Manager of Business Development. This role poses an amazing opportunity to start on the Leadership Track if leadership is specifically where you would like to grow! The role has mixed individual contributor and leadership responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coach and develop BDRs through regular 1:1s, call reviews, role plays, and real-time feedback to improve prospecting, qualification, objection handling, and demo-setting skills.
  • Drive team performance against daily, weekly, and monthly activity and demo goals, identifying performance gaps and creating action plans to get the team back on pace.
  • Lead by example by maintaining strong personal prospecting habits and demonstrating effective calling, messaging, follow-up, and objection-handling techniques.
  • Monitor team metrics and KPIs, including calls, connects, conversations, demos booked, demos arrived, conversion rates, pipeline generated, and overall quota attainment.
  • Provide ongoing sales coaching based on individual performance data, call recordings, and observed behaviors.
  • Support onboarding and ramping of new BDRs by helping facilitate training, role plays, shadowing, systems training, and early-stage performance management.
  • Reinforce sales processes and best practices, ensuring BDRs consistently follow established workflows, qualification criteria, CRM requirements, and prospecting strategies.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and communicate trends, challenges, and recommendations to BDR leadership.
  • Create accountability within the team by setting clear expectations, following up on commitments, and addressing performance issues early.
  • Partner cross-functionally with AEs, Marketing, and Sales Leadership to improve lead quality, handoffs, messaging, and overall sales performance.
  • Help motivate and engage the team by fostering a positive, competitive, collaborative culture and recognizing strong performance.
  • Assist with team initiatives and contests, including campaign launches, prospecting initiatives, new talk tracks, and incentive programs.
  • Support performance management, including documenting coaching, identifying consistent performance gaps, and partnering with leadership on development plans when needed.
  • Stay current on product, market, and competitive knowledge and ensure the BDR team can effectively communicate Prompt's value proposition.
  • Serve as a point of contact for day-to-day BDR questions, helping reps troubleshoot prospecting, process, and workflow challenges.
  • Contribute to hiring and interviewing by participating in candidate interviews and helping identify strong BDR talent.

Minimum Requirements:
  • BDR / SDR Experience of 3+ years
    • 6-12 months of management experience (preferred)
  • Experience in Saas / EMR Health tech (preferred)
  • Possess a growth mindset - desire to continually improve your people leading skills
  • Passion for empowering and cultivating the professional development of team members by identifying key strengths and areas of opportunity
  • Ability to thrive in an autonomous work environment, adept at navigating ambiguity and proactively taking initiative to achieve goals.

  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects, shift gears quickly, and meet deadlines while maintaining professional composure
