Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Psychologist (permit) for the Behavioral Research and Training Institute (BRIT) Institute within Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care.
The primary purpose of the Psychologist positionisto provide therapeutic interventions for the psychological and social needs of individuals served. Supports the integration of evidence-based practices and provide therapeutic interventions based upon the principles of wellness and recovery.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Provides person centered direct care services to individuals with Best Practices Interventions.
- As required by the program, administers high level,specialized, diagnostic psychological testing, evaluations and/or written comprehensive assessment reports as clinically indicated in a timely fashion.
- Consistently involves the individual served and/or family members in the assessment and development of treatment plans and treatment plan reviews.
- Effectively collaborates as clinically indicatedwith other staff members,referral sources, community resources,service providers, case management organizations,families and support systems.
- Effectively contributes to and supports an environment that enhances the positive self-image of individuals served and preserves their human dignity.
- Formulates assessments, treatment plans, treatment plan reviews, progress notes, and termination/discharge summaries.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience - Ph.D., Psy.D.,Ed.D. in Psychology.
Certifications/Licenses - Candidate must possess a New Jersey State Board of Psychological Examiners three-year supervised temporary permit.
- If licensed in another state, must possess a NJ permit.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - Computerskills(Word,PowerPoint,Excel, Outlook).

Physical Demands and Work Environment PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Extensive sitting, standing, talking, listening, reading, and walking. Lifting requirements vary based on program.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Moderate noise. Subject to unpredictable situations and both medical and psychiatric crises. Possible exposure to individuals exhibiting assaultive behaviors. Possible exposure to bloodborne pathogens that require use of personal protective equipment. May be exposed to varying and extreme temperatures. Individuals in community programs may be exposed to varied community environments.
