Full Job Description
Required Qualifications:
  • Shall be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a government security clearance
  • PSYCHOLOGISTQUALIFICATIONREQUIREMENTS:
  • Degree -Shall be current and fully certified or licensed as a practicing Psychologist from an accredited United States educational institution.
  • Valid License from any state within the United States and shall provide evidence of such licensure.
  • The Contractor shall be certified with Degree in Clinical Psychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology and have at least 15 years' experience providing suicide prevention/intervention
    1. QUALIFICATIONS:
    1. Staff/Facility
      1. License- The Contract Psychologist must hold a current, full and unrestricted psychology license in a State, Territory or Commonwealth of the United States or District of Columbia and meet the requirements for medical staff appointment.
      1. Board Certification - Board certification or board eligibility is preferred, but not mandatory.
      2. Credentialingand Privileging -Credentialing and privileging is to be done in accordance with the provisions of VHA Handbook 1100.19 referenced above. The Contractor is responsible to ensure that proposed Contract psychologist possesses the requisite credentials enabling the granting of privileges. No services shall be provided by any contractor's psychologist prior to obtaining approval by the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center Professional Standards Board, Medical Executive Board and Medical Center Director.
        1. If a contractor's psychologist is not credentialed or privileged or has credentials/privileges suspended or revoked, the Contractor shall furnish an acceptable substitute without any additional cost to the government.
      1. Technical Proficiency- Contractor's psychologist shall be technically proficient in the skills necessary to fulfill the government's requirements, including the ability to speak, understand, read and write English fluently. Contractor shall provide documents upon request of the CO/COR to verify current and ongoing competency, skills, certification and/or licensure related to the provision of care, treatment and/or services performed. Contractor shall provide verifiable evidence of all educational and training experiences including any gaps in educational history for all contractor's psychologist and contractor's psychologist shall be responsible for abiding by the Facility's Medical Staff By-Laws, rules, and regulations (referenced herein) that govern medical staff behavior.
      2. Certified Education (CE) Requirements: Contractor shall provide copies of current CEs for initial credentialing by the VAMC. Contractor's psychologist, registered or certified by national/medical associations, shall continue to meet the minimum standards for CE to remain current. Contractor shall provide CE hours to the credential's office, as required, for both privileging and re-privileging. Failure to provide shall result in loss of privileges for contractor's psychologist

  • Malpractice
    Insurance: Shall possess and maintain malpractice insurance.
