Position OverviewFoundation Health is seeking a licensed Psychiatrist to join our growing specialist network. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for patients across a range of mental health conditions, working collaboratively with primary care providers and allied health teams.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, including diagnostic evaluations and risk assessments
- Diagnose and manage a wide spectrum of mental health conditions, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, and trauma-related conditions
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including pharmacotherapy and supportive psychotherapy within scope of practice
- Provide ongoing follow-up care and medication management
- Offer consultation and shared-care support to family physicians and other referring providers
- Collaborate with psychologists, psychotherapists, social workers, and other allied health professionals
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential medical documentation in compliance with CPSO standards and organizational policies
- Participate in quality improvement, clinical governance, and patient safety initiatives as required
Qualifications & Requirements- MD degree from an accredited medical school
- Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC) in Psychiatry
- Holding an independent licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)
- CMPA membership
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and collaborative skills
- Experience in outpatient psychiatry preferred; subspecialty interests welcomed
